Terry - slow, dirty, nervous, arguable leadership, poor decision making. I can name at least 20 defenders better than him in this tournament.
Lescott - stable, but nothing impressive. Man City's defense is not what made them champions - Tevez, Aguero did, even Balotelli had bigger impact imo :) (that is a joke)
A. Cole = good defender, a bit slower nowadays, but definitely with lots of experience. However nowhere close to the best LB's in the world imo. Chiellini, Lahm, Boateng, Abidal, Marcelo, Coentrao, Alba, Alaba will put him on their pockets and some of them are not even tipical LBs. The comparison with Banes is ... laughable. Just because some left mid can cross, run and score from free kicks does not make him a good defender. And the guy is still young and unproven. Maby in a couple of years he can be there, but not yet.

Oh well, we can argue on individualities for years, but it is not what makes one defense good. The only good part of the English defense is their left part - the combination of Therry and Cole works well as we could see Zlatan struggled to go from there and Terry did well with some help from Cole against him.

I actually think that the English mid is class. Yesterday Gerard pulled some awesome performance. And the fact that their wingers are quick and tireless adds extra people in the mid for England and they are able to put more man there, which gives them some advantages. Just my thoughts though, do not be too harsh.

Lol ******* joke mate. Cole is one of the best LB England has have. (also thanks to the arsenal academy at first to bring him out from the youth in the first team squad). sure he a **** to us gunners for crossing the boarder, but he's one the best LB to come out of the academy. a bit on respect for his contribution to the 03-04 invincibles season. and lol why compare him to Boateng XD

Johnson is one key player for Liverpool. even before the reds got Enrique, GJ was there to help in LB. atm, he's one of the best RB with Kyle walker to be the successor. had a good game against France too.
 
Have to say, RUSSIA going out just shows that sometimes football games have a surprise facter in them, and favourites fall too.
wonder if there will be any more major upsets in this competition, hope so, likeing this so far :-)
 
Well we messed up that good, we had Czechs crushed entire first half, but its like players switched t-shirts before 2nd half. And what a turn around in our group, even the Czech fans i talked to did not believe, but now they are in quarter final and Greece send Russia home. Whoever had money on that gotta be celebrating tonight.
 
Greeks are very traditional people. While all the other nations try to invent and/or change something over time they still trust their good old phalanx..

Definately, pretty much all the matches have had a very poor standard of refereeing, seriously where do they find them, the dole queue?
 
well done Greece...even with referees being against greece in the poland match and russia match Greece did it.......
 
I ve watched 5 mins (well I was a bit drunk already) until I realize that Greece and Czech qualified... It was shocking and amazing. Gongratz!
 
I thought Russia and Poland would progress, I clearly suck at this.

****** off I had to miss the games yesterday, must watch highlights.

Germany to win with no stress.
Portugal to get a cheeky win using counters and the frail dutch defence, or a draw, or we get extremely lucky or just lose by one goal. eheh XD first prediction still stands though :P
 
Cracking euro's this compared to others in the past, want/hope more surprises and top teams coming a cropper, BRING IT ONNNNN !!!!
 
Portugal to win but it will be a good game I think Ronaldo an Nani will play well. Germany might dont count out Denmark they did beat the neatherlands
