The annoying thing is if Roy had taken Micah Richards (who is our best defensive right back by a fair distance) we would not need to play Milner, we could utilise pace on both wings and have Young/Ox/Walcott instead of just having a pacy winger on one side.

Richards was asked if he would go on the back-up list and he refused. Yes be probably should have been picked in the first place but is that the right way to go about things if you are not picked. Same goes for Carrick.

Absolute world class header by Ronaldo! More points for my dreamteam lol

We are in the semis ;) Next round we'll face either Spain and France + Platini. Interesting.

Goddamnit Ronaldo, just lost a freaking bet cuz you scored. Another great performance by CR7.

Can almost (but not quite) understand Carrick, after all he is 30 now. But Richards is 23, he has his whole England career ahead of him.

Stewart Downing should never even be in the squad let alone gone to the Euro's. The player is massively overrated and quite possibly the worst ever left winger England has even had. So glad he has not featured in the tournament. Back on topic though, I can see the England vs Italy game go to penalties, I have a feeling it is gonna be too close to call.
absolute nonsense. I'll agree Downing hasn't deserved to be part of this squad (after a poor first season at Liverpool) and quite rightly has played a minute yet. However the worst ever left winger? When on form he is England's best crosser by far and was good during his time at Middlesborough and very good for a season at Villa, hence why Liverpool snapped him up. See how he does next season

Nope it is not, hopefully Roy sorts him out in preperation for the World Cup Qualifiers and maybe also Carrick. Got to say though I am generally very happy with Roy Hodgson so far, definitely a better manager than a lot give him credit for.

Downing should of taken up another profession, football clearly isn't for him :)

I backed Hodgson right from the start as soon as Capello left, was really pleased when he got the job. It will be good if he can get Richards to come back but if not then we have Walker, and the same for Carrick really but if not then one day when Arsenal's medical staff do something right we will have Wilshere.

Personally I think Carrick is done, I dont agree with how he did it but it's been way too much for way too long, and he isnt 23 or 26, he's passing 30, so really he would have 2014 in him. Richards will hopefully turn around, though he's actually made it harder for himself, since Johnson has had a better tournament so far than people expected. I would be focusing on Wilshere and Cleverley, while looking to find cover/competition/replacement for Parker.

Would always have Hodgson over Redknapp. Still have some concerns, particularly about the long term vision for English football.

I actually think the future is pretty bright for England national team, a lot of potential quality there I mean you only need to look as far as United.. Welbeck, Jones, Smalling, Will Keane, Nick Powell (early days but he is one to watch out for).

Also players such as Walker, Wilshere, McEachran (really needs to have a few progressive seasons though), Alex Ox, Steven Caulker, Jack Rodwell, G.Cahill, Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling, Shelvey, Sturridge.

Probably missed a few but so much potential there it looks good, in the future our team could look something like....

-------------Hart-----------------

Walker--Cahill---Smalling----Baines

------Rodwell----Wilshere------

Ox--------------------Sturridge

-----Rooney----Welbeck-------

Obviously this is just a rough team but personally I think it looks pretty awesome, this is assuming Roy is in charge.. cos I doubt he would ever change from a 4-4-2. If in the ideal situation he did I would drop Sturridge place Rooney in the AM role, Welbeck lone striker and maybe someone like Ox on the left and get Ross Barkley in the team somehow.

Edit: I completely forget Cleverley..... :O

I don't see what Rodwell has done for everyone to be so excited about him :/ There's some raw talent there, but he's yet to show anything that convinces me he will be international standard.

Also, I cant see why Sturridge should be in the starting line up, would have Walcott and Chamberlain ahead of him.

If there is any czech here, I would like to give a word of my appreciation for all their fair play and behaviour before, during, and after the match.

Have to say, personally found this match boring until cr7 scored, then livened up a bit, also out of all the quarter finals, was going to be only one winner in this one, and also the easiest one to get to the semi's from.
