omfg. that could've been our only chance to progress....goes to pens I am NOT listening to it, not a chance lol

Have a feeling fitness is playing it's part. but second half has been very stop start and lethargic

Midfield is the root cause of all the problems, they can't retain possession so strikers are dropping deep. Even when they get the ball, they are outnumbered something like 1 against 4 or 5 defenders.

True. Kind of expect more from Rooney though than most of them.
Gerrard's been quite bad, but I think Johnson and Carroll have been quite good.

Rooney is well off the pace due to lack of match fitness. Although thats self inflicted really.

Johnson has been good, Carroll has had little to do. Gerrard has totally faded, unsurprisingly, hasnt got that level of fitness anymore.

personally think Carrolls been best player of ours in 2nd half/ET. Held the ball well and caused problems

And the ref hasn't helped much at all blowing his whistle for "fouls" that aren't and falling for any playacting, and generally being poor

IF (and it's a big if) we go through, we're going to suffer. Other teams will have a 48-hour rest bonus :S

Didn't deserve it, Better football side went through

However, Young has been shocking in every way this tournament.

Cole and Young missed. Pirlo scored an amazing penalty.
Thought the defence were good all night, Carroll, too, but the rest were pretty poor/awful. How Milner started all four matches is beyond me.

Well, there you go. At least we didn't go out with a whimper-couldn't do anymore but we were outplayed simple as. Why Young was picked though I haven't a clue.

Outclassed by Italy practially entire game, nothing else to say.

PIRLO is a GOD!
Class is permanent, really, that man turned the penalties upside down with his cheeky effort and Italy got all relaxed!
