Just drew my first league game 0-0 at home to Roda with 20 shots at goal; I knew I should've bought a striker instead of blowing all my money on Valencia... :(

I have recently made my first 2 signings with Ajax.Hasan Salihadomivsc (sp) for £975k and Juan Vranjes for £875k and will post screenshots when I go back on FM

I started when the German league starts in June. I decided to be Porto, because nobody else has chose them yet. Seemed like a good idea with £30.5M to spend, but a squad of only about 2 or 3 stars and about 28 useless players. It's now July 23rd. I've made a couple of good signings of great signings including Gago and Enyeama. I also signed Asenjo for £8.25M, a complete waste of money. Sure he becomes world class but I shouldn't have rushed his signature, now I'm trying to find funds for other players by selling Lopez. I'm currently trying to sign Charlie Davies for £5M, but I desperately need a LB and RM. I'm trying to re-train Drenthe as an LB but it's taking too long. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Anyway down to some screen shots. I haven't played any friendlies yet but I'll keep everyone up to date.

I was given €5M. And so far most players don't want to play for me.

I've only been able to get Petri Pasanen's services, I'm now after a DM or MC since Lucho wants out and an AMR.

And Smertin as free transfer.

Uh... what the ****?! Two signings tell they'll come NEXT year?!?. What kind of "immediate incorporation" is that?. And all the few good players are getting injured for almost a month. :'(

EDIT: Lucho left, at least I got a million or so.

I've started to apply the reading on TT&F document (from the standard 4-3-3 Porto has as tactic as it fits to the players available)... WOW!. Got my biggest win (now second is my FM05 8-1 to a league one mid table playing Rushden). Though it must be mentioned I played an off-leagues team, so a very weak side, so the old has more merit. But those stats, I never saw them.

Also, Kily González accepted my contract offer, third trasnfer.

are you sure your on the 9.3 patch? coz i started a game yesterday with porto and i only had li £4.4M to spend...

I don't know? It might be an update done by somebody in FM-Base?.. It says 9.0.3 in the version section. I didn't know there was a restriction on what patch i use :S

my transfers so far have offered £7.5 million over 24 months for Vagner Love

Rejected so I am in desperate need of a striker oh by the way,I have found an amazing player who is just valued at £30k

Just boasting that I did it. Yes, it's a second B division, but still.

Meh, got to the Supercup match against Sporting CP. Ended with a 0-0 draw and lost in the penalites. Not a result to complain; while comp gives me the only clear cut chance, Sporting had the most and more than one was good, though the difference of such not that bad chances is not as big as the total shots would make it appear. While the match could have gone either way the final result of Sporting running with the supercup was just, they team was the one looking more likely to get it.

I'm Ajax and have made 3 signings, Ibisevic, Vranjes and Skjelbred.
Still need to play first league game though.

ECC set me in a group maruqed as tough: ManU, Porto, Olimpique du Marseille and Fiorentina. Pundits tell ManU and Fiorentina as the toughest opponents.

Won the first match against Fiorentina with a goal in 11th minute, after the goal made a rush out to the side of the area and was robbed by my FC, who crossed for my midfielder to head it home.

I am really stuck for a striker as I only have One half-decent one and he has been **** so far,so any ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.I have £4.13million to spend

I recently completed the signing of Franco Zuculini for £400k,although I only really bought for backup for now and am hoping to cash in on him soon.

I have put a £1.3 million bid in for Federico Laurito hopefully he is the one who will bring in the goals

First two months I was the manager of the month (only one shown).

After five league matches I'm first tied in points with Sporting.

In ECC second match I beat Olympique de Marseille (3-1, coming back from 0-1) and Fiorentina and ManU drawn, so I'm first of my group with six points, second Fiorentina with 3 and tied in third and fourth Fiorentina and ManU with one point.

If I don't lose against ManU I'd look optimistic at qualifying for the next round.

As you see I've gone through a couple skin changes.

Yes! I did it! Porto resisted ManU at their home, even if things didn't start too good but not too bad either: like four goals for ManU... all disallowed for offside. And my team wasn't using offside at the time.

Then my team received one goal, while using a new defensive tactic (4-1-3-2) instead of the usual (the one tactic calls 4-3-3 but scout calls 4-1-4-1, 4DLRC-1DM-2MC-2AMRL-1ST), with a good chance missed by one of the strikers. Then changed to my usual and things improved a little, got a second goal against, later when I subbed to restore the usual starting eleven (save striker as my usual starting and top goalscorer was out injured) things really got fired up and began to mount pressure on the brits, making a come back in six mins.

Furthermore, Olimpique managed to comeback from their 0-1 in first half to tie, so things look pretty good to get the pass.

In the eighth league day the first no win came against a weak team, it was a draw. But at the same day the first not win, and this a defeat, came to Sporting, so my Porto is currently first in the league. Wot, really that read of TT&F document is helping. And I say this for the ECC results, the portuguese teams are so much weaker than Porto, had I known I'd had picked one of the others.

Drew my second match against ManU, a great chance missed to qualify early, since after coming back to the 1-1 draw that would be the final result, Paul Scholes was sent off with a direct red card and I had 55mins playing against a 10-men ManU. But oddly enough after that, specially second half, they started to play much better and I was even lucky.

But now, after my second league draw but keeping the first position, the next game of EEC and penultimate was against Fiorentina and I managed to beat them again (1-0) qualifying with one match left before the end of groups phase as the group A dominant team.

(As some with the skin may notice, I've done a few tweaks to it to fit my tastes and have it as my final skin)

just completed the deal for Federico Laurito and then realised he was on loan at Livorno and he will have to join in July 09! Gutted

End of first league leg in second position after losing to Sporting, duh. I had a few serious missing players to injuries: my top goalscorer (Lisandro López), my best DMC (Fernando) and my best MC (Raúl Meireles). Plus my goalkeeper (Nuno) got a injury and forgot to take Helton to the bench.

Broke the record run of 15 matches without losing in portuguese league. Not absolute as the last game of champions against Olimpique was lost 3-1.

Signed Bofo Bautista, who will join 1st January

Phew! Lost by bad luck the second match of the league cup, so I got three points below Braga and needing to win by three goals margin. Not imposssible considering my league match I beat them 2-0, but since lately it seemed teams were getting my 4-3-3 formation's gist, I changed to a 4-2-2-2 (2XMC 2XAMRL) pairing Adriano with López. Some clear chances missed at start of match, got my first goal in minute 40 by Adriano. Then in 57 he made the second and in 61 López completed the score. Then I went back to the classic 4-3-3 with some defensive modifications, because Braga had been enjoying some more chances and more clear than I would like. It didn't help much, as with the result against them they started to play more aggresive and they enjoyed a few more clear chances, including a shot to the crossbar, but they didn't achieve to score. So, qualified first of group.

But the big phew! comes from the transfer market. Real Madrid made an offer for López, my top goalscorer (and currently the league's top goalscorer too and top performer), and he wanted to discuss terms. So I chose a sly move: I made a proposeal changing the €11.5M offer into a simple exchange for Saviola, who in worst case could work as a fine replacement or couple for a tactic with two strikers. López accepts Real's contract, I offer Saviola all I can, which is above in bonuses but a bit below in basic wage, with chances he'll accept (I want being sly but not *******), with the luck other teams start making offers for him and he finally takes Sevilla, so López stays and he's not unhappy (might not had been the same if I refused RM from start? though he was happy at my team and to other rumours said he didn't want to move).

The other fear that comes now is Meireles, my second goalscorer with Guarín and best midfielder of the team, specially in attacking duties, has told the press he doesn't feel the challenge of playing in Porto being enough for him. And there's a few weeks until the transfer window closes :s.

In other news, Hulk was taken away. He was not a bad player, but I didn't use him much (started two matches and three came from the bench, scoring one goal) so it's not a loss, but the money paid in front can be a difference for new signings; besides, the monthly fees from my other signings seem to be putting losses on the team, with Bofo's not yet in action, I think, so getting the income from his transfer may compensate the others enough to keep finances good enough. I haven't checked them closely and should not be a problem, but since I may still make one or two more signings I chose to play it safe and accept his transfer.
