Newcastle United's Algerian midlfield starlet loaned out to npower League 1 side Tranmere Rovers to gain 'valuable game time'. The Under-21 international has already made his Premier League debut for Newcastle this season and has played a key role in the Magpies' cup run, however the form of fellow teenager Haris Vuckic and return of talented French couterpart Hatem Ben Arfa has seen Abied slip down the pecking order in the attacking midfield role.

Newcastle have also found out today that they will face Wigan Athletic at The Sports Direct Arena in the Quarter Final of the Carling Cup. This means that the Tyneside club have played every round they have participated in at their home ground this season.

Davide Santon recieves Man of the Match for an impressive displayView attachment 230942
Going into this a game a number of fans and pundits alike seemed to think that Newcastle would be put in their place tonight but an excellent display of defensive work, namely from Davide Santon, was enough to ensure they could grab the win. Both goals came from fantasic tackles won by Santon who then drove the ball down the left wing and cut on to his right and curled crosses in, the first smacked of Ryan Shawcross's knee and flew past Begovic, the second found Jonas Gutierrez at the back post who side footed it into a tight angle.

Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old Danish centre-back Jores Okore from Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland for a fee of £1.3m. The Magpies opened negotiations with the commanding centre-back last week when their cheif scout Graham Carr discovered the £1.3m release clause in his contract and he is seen by Newcastle manager Tyler Hutchinson as a future star of Tyneside who could well see first team action this season as the depature of Mike Williamson has been agreed. Okore's talents are clear as he is already a regular in the Denmark national side Jores has signed a 5-year-deal with Newcastle and the transfer will be completed on the first of January.

Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba celebrate after pulling back from 3 behindView attachment 230953
Newcastle United showed their fight and determiniation after going 3 behind and remaining 3 behind with 28 minutes left on the clock. A Zabaleta OG from a Cisse shot seemed little consilation as the Magpies still seemed too far away, that was until midlfield maestro Yohan Cabaye netted from just inside the box to pull the Toon right in with a chance. It was left until the 83rd minute before Papiss Demba Cisse, who'd looked dangerous all game, scored a pearler from an angle which curled into the far corner, the stadium lifted. The fans seemed happy with a draw until a corner was won in the 87th minute which saw Steven Taylor dive out of nowhere to reach it and head into to the bottom corner. What a game!

you are the best manager in the world no doubt about it where are you in the league could you show league table and who are you targeting in the transfer window

Captain Colo kept Newcastle strong to win pointView attachment 230956Newcastle United continue to impress this season and have now proved they can mix it amongst the big boys. The Toon kept a strong formation and took no risks and were perhaps unlucky not to get all 3 points in the end after a few good chances. All in all, Newcastle can take nothing but positives away from this and they never stop impressing.

Sammy shows what he's all aboutView attachment 230963
A brilliant game at St James' Park saw Newcastle advancing into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup, the highlight being a brace from 19 year-old Sammy Ameobi. Ameobi covered for Demba Ba on the left as the Senegalese forward was fatigued and he ran the show with his mazy runs, quick feet, and tidy finishing. The game was put to bed by another utility man in James Perch who had a tidy game also. Tyler Hutchinson can hold a lot of faith in his current crop of players but reports suggest he has handed a list to Mike Ashley that contains 6 targets and 4 players he's looking to sell or loan.

Papiss Demba Cisse got Newcastle underway before being dismissedView attachment 230971
Newcastle United showed a lot of fight and character after claiming a very good win over second-placed Chelsea, despite the fact they played with 10 men for 60 minutes. Papiss Cisse got the Magpies off to a flying start in the 23rd minute as he got on the end of a Cabaye pass to slot past Cech, it was then Cisse who was dismissed 6 minutes later for a two-footed challenge on Ashley Cole, forcing Hutchinson to change things around. It clearly knocked the Toon as Chelsea were battering the door down for the remainder of the half. Three minutes after the interval a scrappy attempt to clear a Chelsea corner ended up with Torres sticking it over the line, strangely this motivated Newcastle. A promising counter attack in the 57th minute ended up with Hatem Ben Arfa skipping past two defenders before playing it across to the clinical Demba Ba who just needed to stick in an open net. It was then Hatem who got the winner by getting up and nodding home a Jonas Gutierrez cross in the last ten minutes.
