I am looking to re ignite a EURO sleeping giant, but who falls into this catogry?

Ajax maybe?

Your opinions FM's?

Celtic, or Rangers, Ajax as you say, Valencia, Leverkusen maybe ?

benfica - they were european heavyweights throughout the 60's
ajax - were massive in the 70's
juventus - its been a while since they were good too

Red Bull Salzburg
IFK Goteborg
Nottingham forest!!
PSV

Rangers , Ajax , PSV , Dinamo Buch.. , Steaua Buch.... And Aberdeen was good with Sir Alex

AC Milan as they have an aging squad so you can build a new team and they aren't the number one team in Italy let alone Europe :)

Ajax/Benfica would be the easiest
Forest would be a great challenge though

Torino

Forest would be good too.

if you want to get pre ww2 Pro Vercelli (recently merged with Pro Belvedere due to money issues [crosstown rivals] )

Borussia Dortmund is great fun.
Huge stadium, great facilities, young squad, and low expectations.

Not really a sleeping giant, but they were the first german team to win a european cup, back in `66, and they won the UEFA cup in `97 (or `96?).

All of these have won either the Champions League/European Cup or the Europa League/UEFA Cup/Fairs Cup, but its been at least 18 years since they lifted the crown.

dontmund beat Juve 3-1 in the 97 Champions league final, KH Reidle came off bench and scored his first touch

think FC schalke 04 won the uefa cup the same year
