First season i took over and finished 7th, on loan striker Jo was the top scorer with 22 goals in all competitions. You start off with a limited transfer budget and a lot of injuries to key players so wise transfers are key.

IN
  • Giovani dos santos(loan)
OUT
Tony hibbert

It may not seem like a lot however the dos santos signing came in handy on numerous occasions, tactics used were to play with a very low line and very wide. Arteta as the playmaker but if hes injured stick pienaar in there he makes a good playmaker to. As for the target man put Jo with yakubu Jo as the target man and to run onto the ball. Your team should be as follows for the first season.

Howard
P.Neville Jagielka Distin Baines

Arteta Cahill Fellaini Pienaar

Yakubu Jo

Second season no matter what position you finish you will be able to sign this man, Oscar Cardozo a clinical striker, good in the and the perfect target man. Make sure you get him as for the next couple of years your team will be built around him. Make sure you attempt to sign Sakho aswel, hes a young french defender with a lot of potential. Once Jo returns to City replace him with cardozo and sell pienaar and sign alexis sanchez!!!! This is also important as sanchez is younger, quicker and fits into the team a lot better. This is your guide for the first two years of your everton career so good luck.

7th is 1 position lower than what the board expects you to do 1st season mate :D

ok boys. fair enough its not the best guide ive ever seen, but lets not be harsh on the lad eh? if you arent going to give him some constructive feedback then please dont post

MY EVERTON TEAM GUIDE
apologise in advance for layout/presentation because im not to clever at this
I won the league with everton in 1st season but abandoned the save because of the lack of ambition of the board in the 2nd season but i remember most of what i did

Transfers: In

Kiko Femenia 230k
Marc mateu 200k i think
Anthony Annan 3m
Lacine Troare 2.2m
Gabriel Silva 3m
Alex Smithies 1m
Alphonse Areola 100k
Buananonette 3m

Out

Tony Hibbert 5m i think i got 7.5
Seamus coleman 1.5m
Louis Saha 5m
Carlo Nash and other reserve quality players 3m

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTAMENDI if i can afford it

I buy Kiko because he can play all down the right wing and plays as a wing back for me (replacing Hibbert)
Annan is obvious because he is the ultimate DMC destroyer/Anchor man who i also use to Man Mark oppositon AMC's
Troare and Silva are my must haves when i start in the top tier of european leagues. They can provide decent back up (Troare i think end up starting for me getting 14gls in 24 games) and turn world class with the right amount of training and games.

I always do the following whatever team i start with
1. Look at selling high wage earners
2. Sell players with potential ratings of upto two stars and release youth players with potential stars of one star or less and reserve quality players

1.
This is because sometimes (Saha) players can be wages which make a decent percentage of your wage budget but they may not be good enough (Hibberts crossing isnt good enough for me) or be so injury-prone (Saha) that there is no justification in keeping them. Selling these players increases your wage budget sometimes allowing you to buy in a star player by increasing the transfer budget.

2. Although it is always better to develop players to their maximum potential before selling them in teams with limited budgets its always good to get rid of players that will never get near the first team or that provide you enough funds to get a better alternative. Ie I sell nash for about 900k (by increasing his value and then offer to clubs) and get smithies at 1.1m with lower wages but better potential (ist teamer in second season)

With everton i use roni's goal factory tactic in the main

I have adapted this (sorry i dont know how to attach on here) for games against so called better opposition or if i get good lead against these teams by changing the instructions.

Change to standard strategy with very rigid play and go one notch above deep and narrow and change to quick tempo and counter and not offside

Fellaini was my star man as i trained him to be a better SC as well and he played some games up front scoring goals for fun. Cahill was similar as he played as box to box MC or poacher SC and was also fantastic
Belyandtiv (sorry about spelling) played as my winger as Advanced playmaker alternating with Osman
and Pienaar as my AML.
When arteta returned i alternated the player postitions depending upon the oppostion.
Yakubu was disappointing for me when he started unless he was scoring (tending to get 3/4 goals in 3/4 games and then stop scoring) but was useful as sub because of his strength/finishing/composure

Howard (Smithies)
Neville (Kiko/Gosling) Yobo (rodwell) Distin (heitinga) Baines (Neville)

Annan/Felliani (Rodwell/Heitinga/Gosling)

Felliani/Pienaar/Arteta Cahill (Felliani/Rodwell/Gosling)

Pienaar/Arteta/Osman (Kiko) Bely/Pienaar (Baines/Arteta)

Yakubu/Vaughan/Troare/Felliani/Cahill depending on fitness and oppostion

I use wolfsongs teamtalks and do use opppositon instructions supplementing them if needed to close down/mark oppostion full backs that like to get forward when using the counter strategy and always marking the oppositions AMC!

I am going to try to start a new everton game to prove this soon !

I appreciate that you took your time to make and post your Guide but really much more information on your tactics, players, finances and stuff would have made it a lot better.Plus a much more better layout and a neater presentation....

Dont worry too much mate,Im sure now you have realised this little things you need to do so you can hopefully make a better Guide next Time

Lets not be too harsh on the lad guys,Im pretty sure each and every one of us were so ignorant when we started out
