So Everton have so much quality in the back (3 CBs, 2 RBs, 1 LB, 3 DMs), all of which could be starting players. I was thinking of playing a 5-2-1-2 or something like that to utilize all of the talent I have. After that, I'd spend my 8M budget buying a really good striker. Is this a good plan?

I didn't-I've just started an Everton save and stuck with an attacking 4-5-1 with RB Neville, Jagielka and Heitinga CBs and obviously Baines at LB, with Parker in front at DM (sold Fellaini to get more cash), with Arteta at AMR, Rodwell CM, Cahill CM, and Malouda at ALM with Saha up front. Prefer to let Rodwell and Cahill push up and have Fellaini stay back, with Malouda cutting inside, and give Arteta expressive freedom. But tbh, it's entirely up to you. Tinker about and see the results. best way to find out
