Shock-waves have been felt throughout Europe after Barcelona F.C. were
summoned to appear before the Supreme Court of Spain to explain irregularities
relating to their financial deals over a 10 year period.

This story first came to light in the wake of the recent scandal of the Transfer of
Neymar da Silva from Brazilian club Santos F.C., prompting the resignation
of Barcelona President Sandro Rosell.

Santos F.C. released the following statement.

"We are contesting the legality of the transfer of Neymar da Silva and will seek
due compensation for loss of competitive and marketing income."

"We were not made fully aware of the contract agreed with the players agent
and find the secret arangements to defer payment away from the
majority owner of the player, Santos F.C. disgraceful!"

Other European clubs have also issued statements after examining the details of their transfer dealing with Barcelona F.C.

Arsenal, Udinese, Valencia & Inter Milan are said to be preparing a combined legal case that could
see the Catalan club fined in excess of 300 million Euro due to illegal activity in the UEFA transfer market.

More to come. I've been thinking about this story for awhile
Hope ye enjoy! :)

Reports around Spain are that this could be the end of an Era. F.C. Barcelona, one of the
countries great clubs could be financially ruined and relegated to the Spanish 3rd Division by La Liga.

1. If the transfers are deemed to have been illegal and unlawful, the player's contract will be terminated and Barcelona will have to pay the outstanding transfer fee plus compensation, up to 300% the players value.

2. If the club is ruled to have received a decisive and unfair advantage through these player's involvement, the Club will have any titles won during this period revoked and be relegated to the Spanish 3rd division.

Gerardo Martino resigns as F.C. Barcelona Manager.

"The job is simply not tenable. I wish to thank the club for the opportunity
but given the recent legal issues, this is not a chapter of my career I want
to pursue."

"I took this job because I was excited about the project the club
was building towards. I'm not sure if those circumstance still exist
and now is not the time to make demands."

"I wish F.C. Barcelona all the best and hope this chapter is closed and
the club can get back to playing football"

Haha. I've never actually managed Barcelona but I don't enjoy taking over insta-sucsess teams.

I was reading about the Neymar scandal and thought to myself "why if they did this with all their other signings?, wait, what if they get taken to court for it and got a huge fine + Relegation?!"

The idea kinde snowballed form there :P

As a huge Barca fan, I don't like the sound of that ;) But hey, as long as it stays fiction, then I'll keep reading :P How are you goin to do this? What about their current players, their economy and so on? The reason to the questions, is that I would like to try this out! :)

Are you editing the club to make this work? How will you do that? Make them poor, give them a massive debt and downgrade all their facilities while releasing every player on the team?

I like playing around with "what if" stories. Back when Liverpool nearly went into administration, I started a story about what would have happened if they did and get deducted 10 points.

Aye, none of what I'll be writing is true. It'll all be made up! *Disclaimer* tis all just fiction based on rumors. I'm the Dan Brown of the FM_Base :P

It'll mainly be an editor job but putting some thought into it rather than just releasing everyone, ect.

I'm looking into what I can do with the editor to simulate a financial meltdown. Point deductions and the like.

When you have the database ready, is there any chance that you'll be uploading it?

not usualy into stories but it is interesting!, would love to see where messi would end up should the club go down

A ray of good light was shown for F.C. Barcelona today as Quatar issued a statement
saying it will continue to sponsor the Catalan club and was proud of their continued partnership.

However, with the club nearing three-quarters of a billion Euro in debt, administrators have been called in to
avoid the club being liquidized. Because of the lack of European football and the cancellation of the La Liga TV rights deal, Barcelona will have to sell it's own assets if they hope to bring this debt under control.

One man who is pretty much guaranteed to be on every clubs shopping list is Lionel Messi, the
question however is, who will land the Argentine,

"I'm really sorry to be leaving, I love this club and I love this city. I've been
here since I was a boy and this is my home. A small condolence out of this
is I get to work with Pep again and hopefully Los Cules will be okay!"
