Finally took the plunge!!!

To me it sounds like the team you have taken over, would be like the Hitler Jugend if one of those parents or that grandmother was in charge :D

More seriously I would get the team to work like a team and encourge the individualistic kids to pass the ball more often. My personal experience as a kid was that we won more often, when the team players were on the pitch and that was even though they were less gifted than the individualistic kids. It also increases the moral and happiness of those kids, especially when they are around 9. You're having influence on their life, so it's important to make everyone feel a part of this team. Good luck with the boys ;)

Training tomorrow done the mourinho 4 vs 2 grid game looking for a new game to implement to bring on pass and move mentality I'll scour the net but any ideas welcome. Got to be simple though dont wanna get to complex yet
 
right so training gets cancelled because "no one can make it". it was presentation on Saturday and the guy who sponsors the team who I thought I got on with comes and speak to me airing his point of view which is he has sponsored the team for two years doesn't know whats going on and isn't happy about it and is ready to kick off and cannot wait for the AGM to get it all off his chest. I am sat there thinking to myself is this guy for ******* real its the lads presentation?
so I just agree with him to keep the peace because unlike him I have a brain I can see his point but its really not the time or place, then his wife started and I just couldn't be arsed so went and played footie with the lads.
so fm base here is what I have decided and you guys are the first to know lol, I am leaving this team its been what 6 weeks of bullshit and quite frankly for an under nines team that has just won the hull district bottom group its not worth it. I spoke to a few people at the presentation or they accosted me anyway apparently I shouldn't be the coach because someone else was already lined up and I've interfered and so has the club secretary who shouldn't be interfering and blah blah ******* blah.
I just cannot be bothered with some little village idiots think its like the premiership and win at all costs mentality I have better things to do with my time quite frankly. hopefully the lads will find another coach so they can carry on but I think it will have to be someone from patrington because they obviously don't cope well with outsiders.
good luck to anyone else starting out in coaching who is reading this hope your venture is better than mine i'll probably join another team hopefully in the coming months and if anyone wants any advice from someone who has tried it out and failed I am always around on the base feel free to pm me
 
Blind fold the kids so they can't see their team mates in training, then have them communicate to improve passing and team cohesion :)
