Hello everyone. I just started playing fm2012, and found this great forum while I was wondering on the internet for some advice and interaction.

I have used some of your tactics, training programs etc, so thank you all for those. I found it pretty hard to train youngsters and ensure they reach their highest potentials, but there are some great youth training instructions out here that I think will be really useful for me.

The reason why I'm asking for your help is because I'm having A LOT of trouble finding youngsters. I have read several threads here and saw amazing young players, but couldn't find any of them in the game, I even tried adding nearly all of the leagues but still couldn't find them. I prefer spending time on youngsters rather than spending ridiculous amounts of money on aged players so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance ;)

Filter by age then check the most expensive ones, they are normally good
But also sort by different stats like finishing and pace, then you will find the youngest players with the highest finishing (or whatever stat you chose)
Agents often suggest their youth players, thats how I got some of my best youth players
Also check national youth teams, and full teams. If hes good enough for his nation at a young age hes gonna be good

the best regens are found manually. you have to trawl through every single nation's u-19 and u-21 sides, and also that of some of the top ones..the really obvious good ones should appear on your search and as mullen said, you can sort them by value and check who the best amongst them are.

Write down/memorize regen creation dates for major countries (England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil) and then look through each country's top clubs for future stars on those dates.

sort them out? i thought the only way to search for a player was just typing his name on the search bar and check the results. How do I sort them by age / price / attributes etc?

your manager name>search> players

Totally agree Malhar. Best way imo is to go through all the national youth squads and the more their worth is usually an indication of how good their potential is. Scouting them from here if you can will help and give you more information with a report. I have found a few gems from doing this, it is time consuming process but definately worth it :)

cheers mates. it takes time but your advices definitely will be useful ;)

You can go to the player search filter, and set the contract status to youth, and then offer them contracts at your will. The ones worth the most, will be available for little to medium compensation.

Echoing what people have said really, if you're looking to pick up cheap young talents that will blossom then looking at the new regen dates are a must - the most important ones being the following:

(World > Transfers > World > All Transfers > Youth Take)

08.03(Mar) – Australia, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, N. Ireland, Russia, Scotland, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales

13.03(Mar) – Austria, England

28.03(Mar) – Serbia, Spain

02.04(Apr) – Argentina, India, South Africa

20.09(Sep) – Brazil, Ireland

I know it can be a pain staking process looking through every single player (especially when the 8th March comes) but I normally find 1 or 2 gems that are worthy of a contract being offered. The average compensation ranges from £1million-£2million so depending on how rich you are it's not much of a gamble.

As you're probably aware in south american teams players aren't allowed to sign for an abroad club until they reach 18 - Definitely worth waiting 2 or 3 years for long term gain even if you'll lose some cash in the short term. Yesterday I completely forgot about a 15 year old Brazilian I offered a contract to & when he signed I was thinking when did I sign this bloke - looking at his stats it was a pleasant surprise & a snip at £1.2million. Hope this helps.
