Fjolnir - Road To World Domination
View attachment 453599Inspired by W4NKER's long term stories, I decided to start my own one. In this save I will be trying to take Fjolnir from the Icelandic first division to world domination.

Icelandic competitions explained

Icelandic First Division
-Second division in Icelandic football.
-12 teams, each team playing each other twice.
-Top 2 teams win promotion.
-Bottom team relegates.

Icelandic Premier Division
-First division in Icelandic football.
-12 teams, each team playing each other twice.
-Team placed 1st qualifies for UEFA Champions League Second Round
-Teams placed 2nd & 3rd qualify for UEFA Europa League First Round
-Bottom 2 teams relegate

Icelandic Cup
-Knockout system containing all Icelandic clubs.
-Teams play each other once.
-Winner qualifies for UEFA Europa League First Round.

Upper League Cup
-All 24 teams from First- and Premier Division are drawn into 3 groups of 8.
-Each team plays each other once.
-Top 2 teams from each group qualify for Quarter Final
-2 Teams placed 3rd with most points qualify for Quarter Final.
-Knockout system, teams playing each other once.

Icelandic Champions Cup
-Supercup between Premier Division champion and Icelandic Cup winner.

Didn't really expect it, but we dominated the league with only one loss and three draws. Hopefully we can continue this form into the Premier Division next year.

I'm also managing in Iceland with 'Knattspyrnufelag Reykjavikur' and it's probably one of the most fun saves I've ever done.

Great performances in the group, only losing to the current Premier Division champions FH. Just a shame to be going out in the quarter final again.

My first season in the Premier Division and we did just awesome. Managed to end up in a solid 2nd place, far away from the top but also far away from 3rd place. Can't wait for the Europa League games next year!

My left attacking midfielder Guojonsson, and central midfielder Asgeirsson are definitely my most important players. Guojonsson scored 26 last season and 24 this season, and Asgeirsson had 23 assists last season and 24 this season.

The first European games in the history of Fjolnir and I'm quite happy to actually have made it to the second round. The money we get from these games are also a big help to our finances.

Fjolnir wins the Icelandic Premier Division for the first time in history! This means Champions League football next season and a chance to win the Icelandic Champions Cup.

A lot of our star players asked for unacceptable contracts or even didn't even want to negotiate a new contract, so I had to let them go. This resulted in a weakened squad this season which is seen in the Upper League Cup, where we didn't even make it through the group stage.

Icelandic Champions Cup

We did win the Champions Cup, our third trophie at Fjolnir.

Finally made it past the quarter finals after three years, but this is still a trophy that we want to win.

Managed to get a lucky win at home, but got crushed when playing away. We did make good money from these matches though.

Still managed a solid 3rd place despite we had a weakened squad this year. I'm happy as long as we get European football to boost our finances each year.

We won the Upper League Cup for the first time! The only Icelandic trophy we still need to win now is the Icelandic Cup, in which we already lost in the first round.

Another Europa League adventure, losing again in the 2nd round. But at this point it is mostly just about the money so we can slowly build towards a squad that can dominate in Iceland and be a competitor in Europe.
