For the 2014/2015 season, a team by the name of FM Base will be entered into the Vanarama Conference North. This team is not your run of the mill football club however, this is a team made up of ordinary people, living ordinary lives. Set up in Leicester, aiming for a central position, the club is made up of 25 players, all in their teenage years, all looking to make it big.

There is one snag; due to new FA regulations, the club has not been cleared to sign any new players apart from those that join them through their academy.

With the team plunged in right at the deep end, it’s time to meet the stars of the future.

Nice job! Doesn't look like I was lucky with my rolls there, but hopefully I'll develop well. Will you stick to a set first 11, or rotate the squad a lot?

I'll do my best to rotate throughout the season, got 25 players to keep happy. I usually find the VC and VCN to be fairly gruelling, and consist of a few injuries, so each player should get their opportunity.

Seems fair! Chuffed to make the starting 11, lets hope I can make an impact in my league debut!

We may have got the points, but we did it the hard way. Thompson's failure to communicate when dealing with a cross 5 minutes in saw us fall behind. Firebird found himself on the receiving end of his manager's anger, after a stupid 2 footed challenge saw him sent off, and ruled out the next three games. Firebird later accepted a 2 week fine.

Following the red card, Peters was subbed for Whyte, in a bid to tighten up the defence. Whilst a risky move taking the captain off, he had been kicked about the pitch by BPA. Despite Lewie Roberts taking the armband, the team looked shaky going into the break.

After a large wave of anger was unleashed by the manager, the ineffective Thompson was hauled off, and Harrison was brought on in an attempt to give the rudderless back four a leader.

The team looked brighter after the break, and on 51 mins, a Whyte freekick found the unmarked Mason in the box, who gleefully tapped it home. From here, we dominated, but couldn't get the lead. That was until a Thunderfoot cross found Mason, who yet again finished with aplomb.

Points gained, but there are some questions to be asked. With Firebird out for 3 games, Whyte gets an early chance to shine this season. More changes are expected ahead of the next match.

Oh!!! Come on.... It was a bad ref call... Come on gaffer, not two weeks salary... I got sons and daughters to feed.. Oh! wait.. not yet. This is my first card, boss.. not for three games surely.

****, out for three games.....

@all: If you find this silly, please let me know I will desist and enjoy the posts.

I said I'd need to rotate, hadn't quite anticipated that early though...

EDIT: Turns out you only have a one game ban, seems the rules are slightly different. Still, given Whyte's performance off the bench, I was always inclined to swap the two left backs.

The 3 points was what we needed there. I guess one of us lads will have to have a chat with phoenix about the incident. We can all get a bit eager in the early stages. Btw, don't worry about the fine, I'll buy you a coke (diet ofcourse ,we are professionals here) later on!

BTW, would it be possible to get a screen of player ratings after the games, or will that make it too much work? Would just love to see how the guys perform.

I'll see what I can do, can't necessarily guarantee a screen, but I can find ways around it

Sounds good. You're already doing an amazing job entertaining us, so don't want to be too demanding :)

All change then, as we have our second game only 3 days on. Buoyed by the win over Bradford PA, and the news that Firebird's ban is only one game, the team is in good spirits. Only Redgrave keeps his place from the last match as the team comes up to match fitness. Mason makes the bench after his MOTM performance last time out.

In injury news, Manbearpig suffers a facial injury, he'll be out for a couple of weeks.

The game didn't quite go to plan immediately for us, as Post left the pitch injured 11 mins into his debut. However, Litmanen made good on his chance and pressured the defence. We broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, as a Schwarzenegger knock down found the boot of Williams on its way into the net.

Still a couple of early nerves in the defence though, and a Harrison goal-line clearance saved us from being pulled level. Harrison then followed up with a goal for himself, turning in Patrik's cross.

A defensive howler saw Litmanen score his first goal just after the break. Goyzeuta then entered the fray for his debut, replacing Biggun after 54 minutes, and should have scored straight away, stinging Ormson's palms.

Williams scored a spectacular volley as Mason replaced Baker in the 71st min, in what was an impressive display from the young Welshman. Despite ******** a gilt edged chance wide shortly after, he sealed his hattrick in injury time with a fine header.

A dominant performance against one of the stronger teams in the league.

Ratings: Redgrave 7.5, Banana 9, Schwarzenegger 8.4, Harrison 9.2, Whyte 8.6, Palmer 8.5, Patrik 7.7,
Post --, Biggun 6.7, Baker 7, Williams 9.6. Subs: Litmanen 9.3, Goyzueta 6.7, Mason 6.8

Just caught up now, pleased with my player! Lewie was on fire Pre-season! Only thing I have done in the season was taking the Armband temporary for the 1st match. :P

If it's any consolation, Ricardo did naff all as well. Williams definitely on top in the battle of the strikers in the first two games.
