Worth pointing out with squad roles that I haven't actually changed them, so I wouldn't read into them too much yet.

Teamsheet: FRICKLEY ATHLETIC (H) (29/11/14) (FA TROPHY)

(4-4-2)

REDGRAVE

THUNDERFOOT HARRISON THOMPSON FIREBIRD

MASON YAKIN II PETERS BAKER

GOYZUETA WILLIAMS

Bench: DANCE, ROBERTS, PATRIK, POST, BURHEIM

We go practically full strength as we fight to progress and secure another trophy. No real surprises in our selection, with the expected changes of Goyzueta and Williams in for Roberts and Post.

Only two goals occured in normal time. Frickley got the first one, and we were lucky when Post equalised in the 77th minute. We had dominated the first 90, and if it hadn't had been for our poor finishing, we would have already been done.

Extra time wasn't that exciting in reality, and we will have an extra match on the calender. All 3 of our main strikers should be ashamed with their performances.

Ratings: Redgrave 6.9, Thunderfoot 7, Thompson 6.7, Harrison 6.8, Firebird 6.8, Mason 6.6, Peters 6.5, Yakin II 6.6, Baker 6.2, Williams 6.9, Goyzueta 6.5. Subs: Roberts 6.3, Patrik 6.4, Post 7.2

That's what you get for benching me! :L I perform better when I start. ;)

That's what happens if you don't put Arnie in the team. Zero losses or draws when Schwarzernegger has played. ;)

Super-sub Post! That's what we like to see. More incentive to be a starter ;P, joking.

I wouldn't mind a rest so I could be fit and starting for the FA Cup game boss?

Lewie Roberts

All 3 main strikers are dropped due to poor performances.

EDIT: Goyzueta is out for 5 days anyway, so it is Williams vs Roberts vs Post for the cup game

Yeah, thought so. Thanks for the rest, and hopefully I can impress in the FA Cup! :)

Teamsheet: FRICKLEY ATHLETIC (A) (3/12/14)

(4-2-3-1 WIDE)

REDGRAVE

BANANA MANBEARPIG SCHWARZENEGGER FIREBIRD

PALMER YAKIN II

LITMANEN DANCE HOGG

POST

Bench: PETERS, PATRIK, ROBERTS, WHYTE, BURHEIM

In the knowledge that we will be playing Alfreton away if we come through this tie, we set up in our more traditional formation. We also rest some players, as our big day against Carlisle will soon be upon us. Roberts, Goyzueta and Williams all failed to shine last time, so super sub Post leads the line today. Goyzueta picked up a knock, and misses both cup games.

Hogg going off after 4 mins rather altered our plans, and Whyte came on at LW. Once again, we fell behind though, in a similar pattern to the first match. And once again, it was Post that levelled for us, finishing high into the net.

Whyte gave us the lead immediately after the restart, for the first time across either tie. A Dance goal put us 3-1 up, and in control of the tie. Post furthered our advantage, and with the game won, we gave Roberts the chance to have 10 minutes to find his feet again after a couple of dire performances. Frickley scored a late goal, but it did nothing to dampen our spirits.

Ratings: Redgrave 6.7, Banana 7.1, Schwarzenegger 6.7, Manbearpig 6.8, Firebird 6.8, Palmer 6.8, Yakin II 6.8, Litmanen 6.8, Dance 9, Hogg --, Post 9. Subs: Whyte 7.8, Roberts 6.5, Patrik 6.9

Teamsheet: CARLISLE (A) (6/12/14) (FA CUP 2ND ROUND)

(4-4-2)

REDGRAVE

THUNDERFOOT HARRISON SCHWARZENEGGER WHYTE

MASON PETERS DANCE BAKER

ROBERTS WILLIAMS

Bench: BURHEIM, FIREBIRD, PALMER, PATRIK, POST, BIGGUN, GOYZUETA

We take a risk on our trip to the north, and pick two strikers in an attempt to smash through their defence. Harrison returns at CB, with Peters and Dance set to hold the centre of the park. Goyzueta and Biggun both continue their returns from injury with a spot on the bench. Palmer made it through the last match unscathed, and is now back at full fitness.

Arnie had the first chance of the game, but missed an open goal from a swinging Whyte free kick. Thunderfoot sent in a deep cross in the 21st minute after a marauding run, and found Baker at the back stick, who tapped in. Our decision to exploit the flanks was working well, and had taken the defensive midfield player completely out the game. We took our single goal lead into the break with us, after Redgrave made a superb save in injury time.

Thunderfoot added a goal to his assist from the spot, after a clumsy Grainger tackle on Roberts. Thunderfoot then doubled his tally, again from the spot, after a handball in the box. At this point, Carlisle were in disarray.

In a rare turn of events, Thunderfoot then scored his first professional hattrick. Roberts had a shot saved by the keeper which landed with Baker in the 93rd minute. As Baker turned to pass the ball back to Roberts, Thirwell clattered through him, and the unmistakable sound of the referee's whistle went as he pointed to the spot. Thunderfoot did the honours, and we stormed through to the next round with a 4-0 win.

As a side note:

Distance Ran (Wide Players):

Thunderfoot - 13.4km
Whyte - 14km
Mason - 12.8km (sub off 83rd min)
Baker - 14.2km

Ratings: Redgrave 7.2, Thunderfoot 9.8, Schwarzenegger 8.4, Harrison 8.3, Whyte 8.6, Mason 7.9, Peters 7.1, Dance 8, Baker 9.3, Roberts 8.8, Williams 6.5. Subs: Patrik 6.8, Post --, Goyzueta 6.6

Not quite the dream tie we were hoping for. We will have to be very careful when we play Bradford, they are in very good form, and are in contention for promotion from League 1 this season.

Three games without a single minute of playing time... I should have known it was a bad idea to start dating the gaffer's daughter :(
