Welcome to the FM-Base Story Section, This is, by far, the most active section of the forums. As a result, I have created a list of rules/FAQ that we expect to be followed by those who wish post here.

1. This is a story section, as a result we expect things to be written and done so, to the best of your ability. While screenshots and pictures are allowed, abusing that right will result in your thread being closed.

2. Please use correct spelling, Grammar, punctuation and appropriately sized paragraphs to the best of your ability.

3. Make sure your story, is in fact, a story. Please don’t post three lines stating that ‘ir Alex Ferguson has retired and unknown manager Joe Bloggs has taken over to the shock of everyone’ nobody wants to read vague and predictable stories that have been given minimal effort, if that. The regulars will either ignore or slate the thread, before a member of staff closes the thread.

4. Observe proper etiquette when posting on another members thread, refrain from advertising your own story, be respectful to the writer, we all know the forums are a very emotional place these days and we don’t want to discourage users from posting. Above all, don’t spam! The examples below are terms which are big ‘no no’s’ and should be avoided at all costs, unless of course you want a nice shiny infraction.

5. ‘Good Luck’, ‘keep up the good work’, ‘sounds good, I will be following’ you have been warned.

6. Writers please stay on topic, readers look out for new posts from the OP, so they can read the latest updates.

7. If you are new to story threads and are looking for fresh idea’s and advice, check out the following threads, remember stories should be original and unique to the writer, if person B copies the same story as Person A, users may grow weary of the same idea being over done and lose interest all together, this effect the person who had the original idea as well as yourself.

8. Stories must be added to the story index when created; this helps us keep track of user’s stories and allows users to advertise a new story. http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f81/story-index-t43230.html#post601057

9. Last but not least, I ask that all users keep to one story at a time, I know you were previously allowed two, however this section is full of half written stories. There is a minority of users who actually put time and effort into finishing there stories, these users work are being over shadowed by half assed attempts. If you have no interest in your story, ask for the thread to be closed.

FAQ

Q- Can I edit my posts?

A- Yes. You do have the ability to edit any of your posts at any time after you send them, simply by clicking the handy button provided in the bottom right corner of the post box. The only thing you can’t edit is the title of your story. If you want to do that, send a private message to a Super Moderator or Admin.

Q - Which club should I manage?

A- If you really, really need someone else’s opinion on who to manage, please ask in the thread attached. http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f81/the-need-a-challenge-thread-t24277.html

Hopefully one of our fine forum members will be able to assist you. Alternatively, you can use the side selector in game or choose yourself?

Q – Can I do a sign up story?
A - Signups are difficult to do because they take a great deal of dedication. My advice is that you need a strong following before attempting anything like this. Before creating the story, post your idea in the ‘Challenge Section’ and wait to see what kind of response you get.

Q – Can we do Joint Stories?

A – Yes, as long as neither you, nor your partner have any other stories running, this is acceptable. Make sure you are both in it for the long haul and willing to post regular updates. Please arrange this before posting the story thread, if you like the idea of a joint story but need a partner. Check the attached thread http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f81/the-joint-story-command-centre-t29408.html

To add to what Redders has said...

If you don't have the mental capacity to think of a team to be, then you probably shouldn't be doing a story in the first place.

Does this mean you can only start 2 storys or start as many as you like as long as the others are closed and only 2 open?

i think it should be 2 stories per FM, but that would be quite a job to police

I think id get personal satisfaction from it.90% of the stories on this site are ****.

i did volunteer to lead the story crackdown in the staff room. i can hardly manage with 1 story and a max of 2 or 3 files on the go, some members have 5+ stories and god knows how many game files!

I will help you Jake. I think between us we might be able to keep tabs on everything. Most regular members only have one story from what i can tell.

Please note, Story rules have been updated.
