I think a true champion will be able to win no matter what draft position. There is no guarantee that Messi or Ronaldo will win you the tournament. So for me, no need for more reward than qualifying for the next tournament.

It wasn't that I didn't believe they could win without one of them, and didn't mean that they will guarantee to win you a tournament, I just thought as they are always the two most highly rated players it would be a reward!

I'm not bothered what happens :)

I personally think every position in the draft has its advantages and disadvantages, so I'm going to agree with Znik and say qualification is enough (for finalists and semi finalists). What do others think?

That's fair, was just a suggestion!

PFC Sporting Top of Group Unbeaten

It was a very nervy match as both sides fought hard from the get go. Initially, it would be PFC Sporting who would dominate the proceedings, having the majority of possession and shots. The first goal would come within the first 15 minutes as Reus received a pass from Ozil to cooly slot it home.

However, almost immediately after, Suarez would get one back off of a freekick rebound. 1-1.
Following this, in the 23rd minute, Aubameyang, who was starting for the injured Sturridge, would receive a ball from Reus and hit it off of Godin to get another goal. 2-1 from a Godin own goal.
Aubameyang would continue to be a threat, and just a few minutes later, would receive a pass out wide, again from Ozil, and would calmly put it in the opposite corner. 3-1.
Yet, just before the break, Living on FM would find a lifeline, as a freekick that was poorly cleared found the feet of Fabregas, who would blast it in from just inside the box. 3-2 heading into the break.
When the second half restarted, Living on FM would continue to pile on the pressure, and in the 60' minute, Nicolas Gaitan would be fed by Mathieu Valbuena and perform a perfect shot into the far corner of goal. 3-3: game on.
3-3. 78' minute. Iniesta finds Reus. Reus returns to Iniesta. Iniesta picks out Ozil, from just inside the box, what a strike, upper left corner, 4-3 sheer madness!
However, the player of PFC Sporting's campaign so far, Ozil, would get injured in the 84' minute, get subbed off, and have to sit out the Quarter Finals, severely hurting the chances of PFC Sporting to advance. Yet, after a nervy final few minutes, Sporting would claim the win and the top of Group A, eliminating Stuntcock FC in the process. Truly a great game to watch and what a way to wrap up Sporting's group stage.

PFC Sporting MOTM: Mesut Ozil
Living on FM FC MOTM: Cesc Fabregas

Great game from Lewie, truly a joy to play against, and one that was end to end until the final few minutes. We both advance, hooray :)

@Brendn - I'm in work pal all week... I'm free next week for our match, might be able to do Sunday night... Thou I'll keep you posted.

It seems to be hitting up a bit, hahaha

I've gigs Sunday and Monday so I'm not near a computer (with decent internet) until Tuesday.

Honestly, that seems a little unfair, giving the finalists literally a pseudo shoo-in for the latter stages of the tourney... I kind of like a random draw as everything is left to chance :p

Speaking as a first pick, It hasn't felt like Messi's given me an advantage. I'm still scared of other teams :P
I'm also in a must win last game. A loss and I'm out of the tournament (unless Taskers01 gets hockied and the goal difference keeps me in it) so I don't agree with you that Messi is "literally a pseudo shoo-in for the latter stages of the tourney"

Either or, I don't really mind. A random draw i thin is fairer but I wanted to point out that having Messi or Ronaldo doesn't = better team. Teams are made up of 11, not 1.

Agreed - sure if it was one pick per round and the same order each time then undoubtedly it might be better to pick first but having the snake draft order and picking 2 players in round 2 meant that, after getting Messi, you had to watch 45 more players go off the board before you got to pick again!

Personally I'm glad that I didn't have first pick - not that where I ended up picking has ended up helping me much either though!!

Rather unfortunate as he was a very good opponent :(

Tis all good - you and Lewie more than deserve to go through!! Will be following your progress now with interest. Want to be able to be able to say I was knocked out by two teams who went deep into the tournament!

Thanks mate, hopefully next time you can kick everyone else's **** ;)

Also, yea so maybe Messi and Ronaldo aren't complete game changers, BUT I still think the random order is fair, as Brendn pointed out...
