FM10 is too hard!

i thought fm 9 was easy and this is a little harder but conceding so many goals especially against the bigger teams is starting **** me off, some of the results are so random too i lost 4-0 at home to wigan.

I am managing birmingham and finished 13th, league cup semi and fa cup quarter without really signing anyone, but conceded 89 goals!!!!!!

spurs beat me 6-1 and 7-0, man city 5-0 n 6-2, it just a little un realistic, man utd beat me 5-0 then lost 6-3 against burnley i mean WTF????

Sign a defender, fast haha :)

It isn´t very different from the other games in terms of difficulty but if this will help you...

I was scoring very few goals with the 4-1-2-2-1 (with 2 wingers) tactic in FC Porto and i have good wingers with Hulk (adapted to the right wing) and C. Rodriguez (left wing) and Falcao as striker. So after about 8 games or so, i changed to the usual 4-4-2 and since that it´s only winnings for me!
Just click on create tactic then confirm the positions that the tactic creator assumes. If you´re coaching a good team and playing to win a league or so, you must have at least.

GK - Position/hands/aerial/reflexes/rushing out/one-one
RD/DL - Aceleration/pace/work rating/contration/tackling/crossing/passing/positioning/stamina
CD - Concentration/position/tackle/marking/jump/heading/antecipation/balance/work rating/team work
MR/ML - Aceleration/pace/flair/technique/creativity/drible/stamina/crossing/of the ball/
CM - workrating/team work/balance/pass/ firsttouch /technique/creativity/tackle/mark/positioning/ concentration
ST 1 - Aceleration/pace/pass/flair/off ball/creativity/technique/first touch/drible/finish/composure
ST 2 - Strenght/balance/long shots/finish/composure/pass/headingfirst touch

These are essentials skills wich i try search for my players. Off course that there are other skills wich i like for ALL my players to have such as: decision/bravery/antecipation/work rate and a little of agression (13)

GK mentality - defence
DR/DL - Support midfield
CD - Defence
MR/ML - Attack
CM 1 - Support
CM 2 - Drefence
ST 1 - Support
ST 2 - Attack

You need to picture your tactic in your mind and find the ways to compensate space and how to dispose players when is lacking of space too!

After this remember to buy the best scouts/coaches/physios you can! I have at least 1 coach for each training, remeber to see their personal profile (some are controversial wich i dislike) and most important of all, make sure you have at least 2 assitant managers wich with good man management/tactical knowledge so that when a coach make an opinion, you can have a second one. From now on i only talk to the press after the games. Allways praise your players if asked by press. Team talking:

Home easy game - I expect a win!
Away easy game - For the fans!
Home tough game - For the fans!
Away tough game - You can win this game!

Team tlaking in the break:

If winning by minimum difference - encorage!
If winning by 2 goals or more - Im satisfied!
If still a draw and playing bad - disapointing.
If still a draw and playing good - We only need to score on more goal!
If losing - disapointing. (never, ever, never get hungry)

After the game:

Win - good job! (if hattrick or more than 8.5 rate - funtastic! for the specific player)
Derby win, against a bigger team or huge win - funtastic!
Draw - not enough!
Loose - Disapointing

1st red card - alert the player
2nd red card - 1 week without getting payed and so on

Trainings have a master roll in this game and i think i succeded to find the right ones but it´s very complex. If interested contact me or leave a post with your e-mail!

Hope i was usefull! :)

You have just got to work out what tactics suit your team and use your players strengths.

as i said on a pervious topic i think making tactics is easier, which in turn could make the game easier, but everything else is the same at FM09 this is only my 2nd game (FM09 FM10) and i went through FM09 downloading tactics, in FM10 im using my own and so far its working playing 4-3-3 and i have got plymouth argyle to 4th in the champ

Manager

I forgett to tell that in this manager you need to show more respect for the other teams including the smaller ones. And by saying that i mean that you need to really analyse the other teams players. If the other team´s strikers and wingers are fast, place your defence line down in the field to avoid being caught on counter-attack, if they are slow let your defence line go up on field. By the way, if a player of the other team has great creativity, pass or long range shot (or if he has all), make sure that one of your players with good marking abilities and concentration/antecipation, stay by his side all the way till the game ends. Hope you find some use on this tips and good games!

its possible to win and do well but its too in depth, a bit too realistic, i dont want to end up hanging myself or needing a triple bypass like joe kinnear, i just want a little release from my boring ****** life. i fun game to play, this really isnt fun, just stressful, they should have an easy setting for **** people like me.

I struggled big time in my first season with bayern, finished 4th, but this season now I have got to know my squad's strengths and weaknesses I'm flying high, just takes time

I had a match against Burnley at Ewood Park with Blackburn i was winning 4-0 at HT and in second half it went to 4-4 defenders just didnt defend grrrrrr have to be tacticaly spot on i guess

yeh u have to chop and change during th ematch like a real manager aswell, like if ur winning i have spells of 5/10mnuted where i use touchline instructions to 'retain possession' then cancel it after 5mins then do it again that way u dont do it too much and concede a goal but u fizzle time away its a good tactic and works at 1 goal up aslong as u have 4 midfielders, to use it to full effect lose a striker to midfield and you will pass your way to the 90th minute :D

I've noticed if you have a good assistant manager his help is vital in setting up a good tactic. This years on is a lot more biased on momentum results than simply have the best players etc...leaking goals is my problem to but like most of us we set up attacking in pretty much every game which you could get away with in fm09. Every match now i analyse the team i'm playing against what tactic/ who's fit etc.. getting a lot more consistant results now.

CunhaFP , well done for your advises, but remember you are FC PORTO! Try it with Setubal or P.Ferreira and let me know how it works, and see if you can sign 1 coach for each subject. I don't know if you ever tried playing with smaller teams but usually you can sign only 6 coaches, youth coaches included.

"Depends of your perspective of hard"
I'm Wolves, season just started, playing against Notts County cup game winning 2-0. Notts County can't cross halfway line, and as I'm thinking, "easy, is in the bag" suddenly with 10 mnts to go, Notts County are possessed by the Brazilian team of 1970.
Ade "frickin" Akinbiyi scores two 35 yards goals in 1 minute of injury time to draw 2-2.
Now , that is HARD for Ade Frickinbiyi, as he can't score inside the box, let alone two 35 yard goals, so I just switched off the PC before the final whistle. You see??!
PS. and to make matters worse for him, his stat for LONG SHOTS is 7.

Its not easier i dont think, its harder, but i think 09 was too easy, this is a challenge :)

It's not too hard, I just think 09 was easier. But some of the scores are a bit over the top. Seen an 8-3, 7-2, 6-3 and even a 5-5. So not too sure what's going on with defending. :S

well guys i achieved some really amazing n wondering feats in fm09 with man city, udinese, villareal, aston villa n ath. madrid but i can't tell u guys how much i'm struggling with fm10........
just started my first game on full version with man city, signed toulalan n vargas n sold none, n the result i got are just impossible.....lost to west ham, man united, tottenham, hull, wolves, chelsea in succession..... tried changin the tactics loads but nothing seems to be working.....

Man city do have alot of new players and will take time to gel, u need to switch ur tactics to disciplined so they have no creative freedom as there are alot of individual players (robinho, wright-phillips, adebayor etc.) try and play soem older city players and slowly introduce the big guns, it might delay succes but atleast you'l get it. :)

I think the FM10 is way better! I don't think there is one specific tactic a team should have either... I have played with a number of different tactics with different settings and been successful. Beating Real Madrid 7-2 away in the Semi of the Champions league is one example. I will no doubt share my success upon completion of the final but I just had to say that I love this new set-up. Bravo FM team.

Thanks for your comment!
Yes, with bigger teams its a way more easier of playing FM 2010 (and all the others FM´s). Yes, i played with smaller teams and medium teams, and the difficulty levels in FM is about that. If i want to play in easy mode, i choose Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Internazionale, Milan, Juventus,...
When we play a game, our target is to win everything, specially in a single player game like FM, so if i choose a small team, i don´t expect to win all games, and the away games are finals! So when i play with small teams we need to calm down when things go wrong, and don´t change team or every time i loose!
