I do truly apologise if there is a thread about this as I do vaguely remember seeing one before, but cannot for the life of me find it, been searching for half an hour!

But this is my first problem with the game, and it goes like this. Quit my game without saving as it got a tad boring, and when I tried to reboot the game it got to the loading screen where it shows "loading" in all the different languages, did that for a few seconds then closed.

Uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, still doesn't work, tried taking off the patches didn't work, so at my wits end really!

I am not on Steam btw, standard disc game. Thanks for your help in advance.

Can't find any helpful information on the web about this.

Re-installation would have been my advice, but you've already done that so I'm puzzled.

Yes thanks for trying Billy, I have searched online, but I am so sure I saw something similar to this in a thread somewhere before, with a simple answer just can't remember where it was, who by, or what the answer was!

is it only your save game not working or can you try starting a new game or loading a different saved game?

No, the whole game, I open FM loads all the kick racism out of football ads, then gets to the FM loading screen, then just closes with no message or anything.

Try doing System restore to the date when it last worked.
Have a mac so don't know how to do so on that.

Please guys can't deal with no FM for much longer!

I am having exactly the same problem mate and I am using Mac, it started maybe a week ago.

It is so annoying, I have asked for help a few times on here and not had any luck.

I have also messaged apple about the problem and had no reply.

I dont know what to do :@

Try posting on Sports Interactive forums. You are more likely to get an answer there.

Try un-installing and re-installing and then doing a software update, mine randomly started working again earlier, so I don't have an actual resolution but try these things and keep trying to open it, it got to the loading screen stayed on that for an awfully long time and then finally went to main menu! I'm never quitting the game again!

No message whatsoever mate, just closed.

- uninstall
- delete a files under football manager 2010
- then reinstall

sorry it has to come down to this but thats the only way

Try a system restore to when the game was working.

Google system restore.

Not easy on macs, Redders, have to have the original software disc and re-install all of that. Wiping the whole system in other words.

Ah sorry, didn't read the whole thread.

PCs>MACs.

Haha at times like this I agree with you, on overall performance and reliability, mac's win handsdown. If only the world was more mac friendly :/

Now this may seem like a retarded thing to ask but do you have the game in your disc tray? XD

There is also a cache folder that might need clearing out, it's in your Application Data folder, depending on what version of windows you are using.

For me (windows 7) it's in C:\Users\My Username\AppData\Roaming\Sports Interactive

On windows XP I think it's something like C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\Sports Interactive

Might be worth deleting that folder too, though back it up first - to do that I normally just rename the folder "Sports Interactive.old"
thry this. hope it helps
