Hey guy 1st post not really sure how to navigate the site etc so bear with me.

Basically im used to playing Fm08 and Fm09, just got Fm10 recently but having trouble with transfers seems the market is really over inflated.

For example Sakho in previous versions in the 1st season could have been snapped up for 5-12 mil but im Fm 10 PSG won't even entertain me until i offer at least 20mil up front , then they bump the deal up to nearly 40 mil.

Same goes for Pjanic , Lyon want at least 44 mil even though he's only valued at 7 mil. I know these guys are wonderkids but it seems like a huge jump from previous FM versions and they're only 1 year older.

Am i doing something wrong or is this what im to expect?

Expect it, I know what you mean, I use to get Sakho so cheaply on FM08 now he costs me heaps, could be cos of PA/CA changes which would increase their value but yeah pretty much expect to pay over the odds for a lot of good players, some are good that you can get cheaply otherwise they cost heaps.

welcome to the Football Manager: Project Recession... bad time to buy and an excellent time to sell.

The market doesnt seem that inflated.you can still find lots of wonderkids on the cheap like verratti and lacina traore and vaclac kadlec isnt too expensive either. You just have to look for the bargains all over again.
If you want help finding young talented players i suggest looking for raikins wonderkid shortlist.just type in in the search bar.
And finally welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your time here.:)

I still think transfer prices are ridiculous. Ben Foster, asking price? Nearly £15m. That's totally ridiculous.

don't forget some teams put up a big asking price for their first team players because they don't actually ant to sell them, so they try to scare other managers away
