FM10 Running Slow

(I am not a horrible person, i definitely thought i put a 'w' in the title i can only apologise)

Hey guys sorry if i've missed a threas on this ... but my game is really lagging and its ruining the experience. My estimated game speed is currently half a star and doesn't change even if i only run one league.

I have:
A Samsung Q310 Laptop
160gb HD (34gb free)
4gb RAM
Nvidia Graphics Card
Intel Centrino 2 Processor

I also have downloaded Game Booster and its still slow. I don't get it, all i have open when i play is the internet and FM.

I have 3GB free from 160GB and mine runs smooth as glass. Don't know what's up with yours.
 
Anyone got any ideas? Its taking the fun out of it, taking minutes to process each time i continue :'( (Also if an admin could somehow put a 'w' on the end of 'slow' it would make me feel less sick :$.

1.Sometomes i delete some saves and that helps.
2.Also mess around with some stuff in the preferences to clear up space.
3.Delete stuff from your actual computer.

People are not responding because of the time so dont moan or take it personally

Cheers mate, i have deleted a few of my saves, i've just done a virus scan and a defrag and a disk clean up. Gonna see if this helps at all. What do you mean by mess around with the preferences?
 
Have you tried deleting the cache. this needs doing if you have used the
editor or started alot of new games. search the threads if you dont know how
to do this.

No i haven't mate, i dont really use the editor but have started quite a few new games, any pointers on how to do it?
 
Go to my computer, Enable hidden folders (tool tab- folder options) then local disk , C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010 and delete cache then restart game, Cache folder will regenerate itself

I selected hidden files and now the Sports Interactive file has completely vanished :/

Well i don't know what i've done but its worked i've now got 2 stars!

You hid the files rather than had hidden folders show up. Go to tools button at the top of my computer then click show hidden files, when sports interactive files shows up right click folder select preferences and unselect hide folder. Then go back to user folder, application data etc and delete cache.

FM 2010 Will work faster if you do this correctly. Good Luck.

I've got Vista mate, can't find this 'show hidden files' thing anywhere :S
 
Defrag your computer and do virus and spyware checks as this can be reason for slow computer.
 
if all this has failed you can always try a reinstall, just make sure you backup your saved games.
 
My game is running at half a star and is very slow, please help!
 
did you delete the cache like stated above?
