So I'm hoping to make the jump from FM11 to FM17, I just need that refresher.

I got the FM17 demo recently and boy do I feel out of my depth, transfers (especially contract demands) seem ludicrous and there seems to be so much data thrown at me I don't know what to do with it all.

I'll happily accept I'm an arm chair manager, pick a team, make a few signings, get a tactic and watch the fun unfold. Is that possible on the new FM's? I can get used to the new layouts and such, but do you now have to be super hands on, tweaking every little detail of your formation, analysing games, scrimping the pennies, etc?

Is there any sort of summary somewhere, to bring a retro player into the newer game?

not really mate tbh id proberly say make an dummy save to learn a few things then start a proper save really. a lot has changed over the past few fms.

If you don't want the depth, FM Touch (aka Classic) is probably the way to go.
