Introduction
Few day ago when I first signed up to this forum, I realize no one had released a formation with the classic 3 men defence, thus the name ''Johan Cryuff'' appeared in my mind hence I decided to try to emulate his Legendary 3-4-3 in Football Manager 2012, after a number of experiment, I finally got the tactic working. Basically two full-backs flank a sole centre-back behind whereas up front two wingers are fielded either side of a number 9. In the middle we have a rhomboid midfield with two apices. Almost overlapping with the lone pure centre-back, a defensive midfielder is the bottom peak of the midfield diamond.

Players
  • Goalkeeper -
    The best goalkeeper in your squad will do. This is important as if your Center Back is beaten, you will need him to rescue you.

  • Center Backs -
    Use your best defender in your team and make sure they are of quality. If not get a quality defender.

  • Full Backs -
    Must be able to attack when needed, and must be able to defend when needed. If possible get a right back that is good at heading.

  • Defensive Midfield -
    This is also very important, try and get a quality defensive midfielder if you don't have one in your squad.

  • Center Midfielder -
    Any two best center midfielder in your squad.

  • Center Attacking Midfielder -
    He has to be creative, and have ability to score goals.

  • Wingers -
    Any two best attacking winger in your squad.

  • Striker -
    The best striker in your team will do.

would this work with barcelona?
their AMR and AMLs are more build for IF than wingers so I dunno..
Im testing my own 343 but it has problems
what role is your striker?
 
kind of a coincidence uh, that when i post the only 3-4-3 tactic with 2 fullbacks, u all of a sudden do the same.. tell me this wasnt dubbed ehh??

Just saw your thread. Downloaded your latest complete 3-4-3, totally different tactics, you're playing with 3 central defender, I'm playing with 2 full backs and a central defender. You are using the modern tactics, while I'm using classic. Anyway I am already experimenting with these 3 at the back for a couple of weeks already, and have released a version before earlier this month but failed. Thus I continued with the experiment and came out with this.
 
A advise to all people trying this tactics with mid-table team, defense come first. Your backline is really really very important.
 
i c, i posted the wrong tactics on my thread, it was actually meant to be 2 full backs n a sweeper/libero as well, guess i put on the wrong folder dang it lol.. guess u beat me to it, ConGrats. Enjoy ur success buddy. managed to get xavi passing at 100 off mine, will possibly correct the folder on that post we'll c :p . Sorry bout the confusion again, Cheers

What constitutes a quality defender in this role? There are many good Centrebacks, like John Terry and Vidic are the more throw my body on the line defender, by definition a good Centreback. But then you have guys like Ferdinand and Pique who are less aggresive have better anticipation and also good speed to backtrack also good defenders. What I'm saying is telling people to get the best defender isnt enough Info for the position considering the diversity of what makes a good defender and the differences between them.

As far as I know, it will work either of Terry/Vidic or Pique/Ferdinand.
 
I had just completed another version of the same formation for mid-table team to thrive for. But before I release how may I know if any is interested? I need more reply and feedback!
