FM2014 DON'T GET IT. NEWBIE NEEDS HELP

I have purchased this game and have been playing it or weeks. I have tried managing 7 or 8 teams, trying to start in second division, first division and championship. I follow all the advice i.e. pick formations that suit players, play defensive or counter. Buy wisely. All players 3.5 or better. Follow advice of assistant manager. But every time I have been sacked at end of first season.
Please help. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Gutted for you mate. Must take the enjoyment out of it. I am no FM God so dont really know myself, but as a suggestion.
What past rep you using?
Are you meeting the boards expectations?
Check for philosophies, are you meeting them?

Just for starters.... hope you get it sorted...
