FMBase lagging like heck lately / inaccessible?

Hi lately Ive been having problems accessing this site , even making this post took like 10 tries to even load the forum.
The pages either don't load at all or load super slow.
Was the site subject to some kind of DDoS attack or something or a server problem or is it on my side only?Ive done some checks to see and it seems the problem is widespread https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/fm-base.co.uk.html

It's been really really bad for over a week.

Taken 10 attempts to get onto forum. And multiple tries to view anything


I guess the owners don't really check in on the forum much. It's slowly dying.

It sucks that we are having this problems, i hope @Luigi is aware an can do something about this.

Platform stability update​

After the recent forum issues, I carried out substantial maintenance and recovery work behind the scenes today (that's why it didn't work).

I safely recovered, rebuilt, and thoroughly checked the forum database. I also upgraded the database software. The search system was migrated to a more reliable storage format, and an old add-on that was generating unnecessary records was disabled.

I have also made several improvements intended to prevent future incidents:

• Automatic, verified database backups which are checked for completeness and corruption. This enables automated health checks to monitor the database, server, and forum status.
• I will receive immediate alerts if a check or backup fails.

I also identified and repaired an old, inconsistent upgrade issue that caused one of XenForo’s background tasks to fail, creating many random errors when viewing some posts.

I cannot guarantee the forum will never have another problem, but the platform is now in a much healthier, more maintainable state. We should be significantly less likely to encounter the same kind of failure again, and if another issue develops, the new monitoring and backup systems should help us detect and recover from it much faster.
