FMF'S EXTENDED INFORMATION PANELS

At some moment, you are always looking at certain screens in FM and thinking: "Damnz, I am missing some columns here". I intend to fix that problem by giving certain screens extra columns and therefore, more information.

This add-on will alter some screens in FM. The player selection view, shortlists, players search and staff change will get a necessary make-over.

The info below will provide you with information about the panels, downloadlink, loads of screenshots, installation instructions and a Q&A (Questions and Answers).

FMFORMATION'S MATCH SETUP

Ever thought the Players Selection view is pretty limited and should be expanded? When selecting your squad for the upcoming match, you need the necessary information to make your choices. The Selection page shows a lot but definitely not everything.

The thing I missed most was the assists column. The appearances are present and the same goes for Goals and Average Rating. Aren't Assists important at all? If so, I totally disagree with that and decided to add the column myself (like Ackter made for FM2006).
The result?

Handy right? But I still wasn't satisfied. I thought one page should contain much more columns. There is room for it so why not use it? So I decided to create new pages for it which should provide everyone with everything that is needed.
Examples?

The first screenshot shows FMF's Normal view and how to get there as well (through the "View" menu). The second one shows the extended view. The reason why I made an Extended, Normal and Lite version is because of the screenwidth. The Extended view is perhaps of course but not every screen can handle the amount of columns. If your screen is too small, it will automatically hide columns and for some, it could be a column which is important to you. Therefore, I decided to make three versions which will hopefully please everyone. Much more information is present than any other screen and I believe this makes it easier for everyone to get all the needed information with one quick look.
So try out all three and decide for yourself which version suits you best.

If only that was all. Nah, I decided to take it one step further. At the bottom of the "View" menu, you can go to "Attributes" and choose for which section you want to see the attributes. First of all I was always missing a midfield page. Secondly, I think not all important attributes are being shown on some of the options. So I took my time to create my own attributes pages and create a "Midfield" page. Now it is easier to really see how good a defender, midfielder etc. is. Please see some screenshots below and it is always best to just try it out in your game.

FMFORMATION'S SEARCH PANELS

On to the next add-on. This one file changes the Shortlist view, the Players Search and Staff Search.

Take a look at the two screenshots above, it shows it all. What it comes down to is that the Shortlists and Player Search screens contain more columns and therefore more information. Hopefully, it will make it easier for you to find that hard needed gem!

But again, that's not all!

http://img61.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wolverhamptonwanderers1na7.png

Take a look at the screenshots. On the first screenshot you can see where the other three can be found. When you want to know who perfect is for a certain position, you need to know how high the attributes are for that specific position. This block will allow you see view all the attributes for the most important positions on the pitch. And not to forget, you can still see the player's position, nationality, age and value as well. Player searching was never so easy!

Even the Staff Search pages have changed. The Coaching and Mental Attributes pages got some extra columns from now on. Age, Club, Nationality and Reputation are now being displayed when looking at the attributes of the staff. Handy right?

For me, it is important whether you like it or not. Please don't be afraid to post your opinion about it!

DOWNLOAD

Download FMFormation's Extended Information Panels

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1) Download the file and unpack it using WinRAR to "My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/". There should turn up a "panels" folder in that directory after unpacking. When using a different skin than the default one, please take a look at the Q&A below.
2) In FM, goto "Preferences" and at the left, click on "Display & Sound". Uncheck the box "Use Skin Cache" and check "Always Reload Skin On Confirm". Click on "Confirm" at the left bottom corner.
3) Find out where you can find what by checking the numerous screenshots.
4) That's it! Enjoy. If you would only like to use the assists column, goto "Selection".

Q & A

Q: I am using a different skin than the default one and after following the installation instructions, the panels are not working or not showing up. Can I use these panels with a modified skin?
A: Yes you can. Find the location of your skin. This is most likely: "My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/skins/<skin name>/"
Extract this download to the folder mentioned above. For example, when using the Tumma skin, you unpack this "panels" folder to "My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/skins/tumma/". It will ask to overwrite one of both files. If not, you've done something wrong. Take another good look at the instructions. Now overwrite the file(s) and follow Step 2 of the Installation Instructions again.
It is always when making changes to load another skin and change back to the skin you want to use. This makes sure the skin is really reloaded and recognized the new changes.

Q: I don't like one of the panels but I really like the other one. Do I need to use both?
A: No you don't. Go to the directory where you unpacked the files to. The team selection add-on is named "team squad". The search panels add-on is called "person search list". Just delete the one you don't like.

Q: Does this work with any screen resolution?
A: Yes it does. However, some screens might contain too many columns for your screen. FM will automatically hide one or more columns in that case. This add-on works in windowed mode as well.

Q: Do you need to start a new game to make this work?
A: No, it works with save games.

That's it for now guys! I would love to hear your opinion about this all and perhaps I can improve it more. Especially the "FMF's Positions" panels are important. I tried my best to include all the important attributes for that specific position but there is a chance that I forgot to add one or more attributes. If you think that is the case, please let me know!

Enjoy these add-ons and I hope it will give you an even better FM experience!

Well, it is a problem with your zoom-in add-on since they all work on different forums. Anyway, no worries, I remove the thumbnails and posted the direct links to the screenshots. Enjoy!

Such a good idea Bozza, You have outdone yourself once more, I am downloading as we speak and i will give you more feedback when i have used it properly.

keep up the good work

Yes I am sure these will come in handy. I personally do these myself but don't really plan on releasing them to the public as they are done for my preference rather than a general one.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Yeah I know, I had the same before. I chose to ignore my personal preference and go for the general one hehe. Since the general opinion is so wide, I created multiple pages. Problem solved!

Loving it Bozza it's very usefull. The only one i don't really like is the player search one

is there a way i can ditch it without clicking on General Prefrences everytime?
