Hi guys
I've had 2012 on the PSP for a month or so now. I decided i would use Man U so I can get to grips with the game before I set myself a real challenge. The thing is, under my control Man U are performing like a conference team, seriously, Alex Mcleash would be proud of me, that's how bad its got.
The trend at the moment is; I win the community sheild against man city every time, then I lose/draw most games. My goal scoring is minimal, but luckily my goal conceding is quiet low. Once I get to late October/mid November I'm lingering in 10th and get sacked.
What brought me a surprising amount of success back in the CM days was a diamond-mid 442, concentrating on the wings, but, mentality on ultra defensive, set on counter attacking, in an average season I would score around 120 goals and conceed no more than 10 (if anyone still plays the older versions, I recommend it, you won't lose a single game).
Alas, this tactic doesn't work on 2012.
So, i've experimented with 442 (flat and diamond) and also with 451 (2 AM, ML, MR, DFM), I've use different variations of holders, runners, through ballers, free roams, but nothing I do seems to change the general way my team performs.
As the training is extremely generic on this version I have everyone set on 'general'. I did try putting all the 'attack-minded' and 'defense-minded' players into their respective programmes but it seemed to have a detrimental effect.
Does anyone have any ideas for a good set up in terms of formation and instructions to make my team play a bit like the way Man U Should do? It would be greatly appriciated.
Oh, and does anyone know why welbeck and Michael Owen aren't in the game?
Cheers
