Well, didn't spot this one yet, and since not everyone uses SI Forums, figured I'd also add this here. Please keep it for realistic features, and not for bug fixes;;

I'll go first..

Training Academies:
This'd be a pretty cool feature to have (eg: La Masia). Something like this -
1. All the younger, regen players (<15) who you can't sign on a contract. Only the club manager can view academy prospects, other clubs will get the player in their scouting range once he turns 14, when they can try to lure them.

2. Ability to provide instruction to coaches of academy, in order to make the players better for a specific position (Eg: Tell the coach you want better midfielders from a particular batch of academy students).

3. Option to send senior players to Academy to teach academy students and improve mental attributes, improving their ability and potential, which ties into my next point..

Flexible Potentials:
Include a feature to enable young players to have flexible potential, depending on various factors - how well the club are performing, number of games the player gets, injuries, facilities of the club, tutoring etc. However, this should only be done for younger players, as it'd be rather weird to see older, experienced players have a flexible potential (you do see cases IRL, but they're few and far between).

Basically, instead of range (-9 -> 150-180), make them have a flexible potential to vary based on above factors. Although, I have no idea of how this can be coded, lol, so I dunno if it is feasible or not (lead to overpowering of lots of players?)

Head Coach salary:
While atm, there is still pretty much nothing you can do with your salary (buying cars, getting jewelry for wife etc go into Life Simulation, so I am against those), it'd still be decent to have something to do with head coach salary. Something like going on language courses to learn more languages (which will have a greater effect in luring players of that nationality), treating your squad to a dinner after a successful campaign etc would be great.

Another thing which could be considered is buying a club (eg: Vincent Kompany (although player) has a stake in a club in Belgium, I believe) But that could probably be a whole different game..

Training:

Another thing that pops to mind is specific training. Supposing a player is on low morale, and unable to finish properly - the ability to give extra training in finishing and related areas (Finishing, Composure, Anticipation) would be nice. Could lead to a slight improvements in said attributes and morale if it works out (alternatively, could lead to further loss of morale if it doesn't)

I had some more in mind, but these were all I could rustle up atm;;

Edit: Oh, and ability to hire language tutors for foreign players, and have a sport psychologist as part of the staff (if that can be implemented).

Also, the option to get in the family of a young player (For eg, when Ronaldo moved to us, his family was brought into the country, and given a place to settle down nearby, which apparently reduced his homesickness. Have a similar option for younger players, where it costs more, but they're likely to perform better.

Edit v2:
It'd be really, really, really nice to see total overall statistics for a player on the player history screen, not just League statistics total.

i hope we can see the player progress in daily basis for training so that we can make better decision to choose player during match

More instructions that you can give your players maybe even a create a role feature. Ie assign players to passing triangles and to task wingbacks to not get the ball in the final third but to back up the ball holder to pounce on the ball if your dribler gets tackeled or something.

Rework PPM's to be more transparent and progressive ie something that the player works on for years before becoming a pro at. and have natural PPM's like troublemaker in the dressing room, ace at free kicks, prime time player, poor in derbies.

I agree being able to direct your academy to produce the players you want.

I'd love to see dynamic rivalries between clubs. Like, for a period of 2-3 years, City vs Spurs was a huge game since both of them were vying for 4th place. It's not a long term rivalry but it was there.

Liverpool vs Chelsea is a rivalry that has no historic basses, rather it's a competitive rivalry built over many years. I'd love to these these develop in FM

I'd love to be able to look at more 'off the ball' tactics, all the tactics and player instructions seem to be what they do ON the ball not OFF it

More clauses in contracts to tempt players to sign, such as a rehoming clause.. many clubs IRL actually get a player an apartment or similar for them to use.. EG City have one for Lampard in Manchester Deansgate, BLackburn Rovers own a few homes in Brockhall that are then used by new players at the club (they also pay for taxis for young players to get to training ext)

"Clauses:
Yearly wage rise 10%
One year optional contract extension by club
Cover 50% of cab fares"

Big two for me have already been mentioned but i will say it again.

1. A dynamic rivalry system - if my team is challenging the same team year in year out for honours then surely some sort of competetive rivalry should be able to be developed.

2. Variable player potential - not 100% on how this could be worked but atm player potential is far too linear for my liking. I am rarely surprised by how a player develops & thats a bit disappointing to me.

Ive been toying with the idea of variable player potential, and I think maybe youth players should start with higher PA and then it tick down due to different variables like facilities, coaches, playing time, injuries etc. although I am not to sure how you would stop players abusing it maybe players start off with really low attributes with possibly 2-3 over 10 I dunno just some theory crafting.

Isn't that basically how it works now? Maybe the PA value doesn't actually decrease, but these are the types of factors that decide whether or not they achieve their potential, isn't it?

Yes it does but it stays static the PA doesn't it? So rather than that have the PA start higher but tick down or alternatively have it start low and tick upwards. I don't sorry if I am not clear enough have had a fair few tramadol tonight for my broken ribs and my heads a bit fuzzy

Yeah it's static. But even if it is, it doesn't really change anything if it ticks down or not, as not achieving ones potential is, in reality, equivalent to the PA ticking down. If you know what I mean.

or alternatively have it start low and tick upwards

This, however, I agree with. There are loads of examples of late bloomers who kept improving until their late 20s, which I don't feel is represented in the game. Mental attributes can still improve slightly, but mostly players are the finished product around the age of 24.

Another feature I've been wanting to see for quite some time now, is to be able to follow coaches' development. You have the option to see the attribute changes of players, so why not of coaches? I want to see which attributes have changed over the years, instead of having to either memorize them or write them down for later reference.

Its a tough one thats for sure. Ive been thinking about it for a while now & must admit i am probably no closer to coming up with an answer then i was when i started.

Short of doing away with PA altogether & essientially turning players into lumps of clay that can be shaped depending on facilities, training, game time, age etc but that too would end up being completely unrealistic.

Hopefully the boffins over at si have more luck then i have!
