Us as football fans always tend to ask the same question- "WHAT IF?"

-What if Arsene Wenger resigned?
-What if Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Liverpool when he was young?
-What if Pele were to come back as a wonderkid?
-What if the world has a Super League where the best teams in the world battle it out?
-Lastly, What if Portsmouth get a tycoon takeover?

Now imagine all those "What ifs" where to be tested on Football Manager.

Will we be able to see Ronaldo thrive as a kid at Liverpool? or would we see Arsenal struggle without Arsene?

The point of this is not to necessarily be a manager story, but rather a series of experiments and questions from you. I would post all the necessary screenshots in and around the experiments you bring forth. Hopefully I can post ever day or two. I will be using the In-game editor and pre-game editor to do some databases.

My aim is to surround these experiments in 6 different categories:
-Manager - Any manager related requests or rumours.(e.g. Thierry Henry as Arsenal manager)
-Player - Any players you would like to see at your club or any rumoured players. (e.g. Marco Reus at Chelsea)
-Legends - Would you like to see a legend reborn? (e.g. Pele, Puskas, Yashin, etc.)
-League/Competitions - Any custom leagues or competitions. (e.g. World Super League)
-Tycoon Takeover - A billionaire takes over a club and helps guide them to world domination.(e.g. Bill Gate takes over Portsmouth)
-Miscellaneous - This is any random experiment which doesn't fall in the above categories.

Let's Start!

#1- Wenger leaves Arsenal:

#2- Englands top clubs get dropped to Conference North/South:

#3- Messi started over:

I know this is really random. but what if Abou Diaby wasn't so injury prone? The dude was QUALITY

Misc- What if the top 4 teams in the BPL were dropped into the Conference North/South?

Thanks for the requests.

@lewie100 - Brilliant idea, I suppose the top 4 is Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, or the current league top 4, Chelsea, Man City, West Ham and Manchester United?

@SmoothJitsu - I like that idea, a brilliant player in my opinion but he just couldn't kick start his career nicely due to injury.

The first experiment I want to do is WHAT IF... WENGER LEAVES ARSENAL. It will be a 3 year game where I will just skip season by season and see Arsenal's progress and how the new manger/s do at Arsenal.

I will post this challenge as soon as I can.

What if... Wenger left arsenal?

I am pretty sure we are all curious to how Arsenal will cope without their dearly beloved Arsene Wenger. Would Arsenal secure their 4th spot every season, or will they drop to mid-table or maybe even in the league. We really do not know what to expect with Wenger gone.
Now let me test that...

OVERALL OVERVIEW

2014/15
Frank Rijkaard is Wenger's predecessor and in his first season in charge he did pretty well finishing 3rd in the league and lost out to Real Madrid in the Semi Finals of the Champions League, also winning the Community Shield. He sold club captain, Mikel Arteta and brought in very good reinforcements such as Lars Bender and Fabio Coentrao. All in all a great first season in charge.

2015/16
More or less the same kind of season as the first despite spending 90 million pounds and only coming third isn't very good. The cup games have been horrific and Champions League Quarter Final is a decent result for Arsenal.

2016/17
Wengers predecessor Frank Rijkaard got sacked in April, he was replaced by former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini. This season was by far the poorest of them all, 7th in the league, 4th round in the cups and 1st knockout round for Champions League. Selling Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chambers was not very bright and the return of Alex Song also didn't help us this season.

Overview
Life after Wenger is more or less the same. Except the club is actually spending money on players. The finances are still rich, we are still a powerhouse in Europe.
Overall Wenger will not be missed.

Brillant idea, i would like to see you bring back Zidane or a team of legends like Ronaldo, Zidane, Maradona, in the Premier League. Good job man.
Sorry for my english

Legends FC

@draxfc - This is a brilliant idea, I like the sound of a legends team. I would make them into wonderkids say 18 or 19 years old (1996). But I think it would be a better idea if we were to put them into a super league with the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, etc.

The squad of 27 will consist of:

3-GK
2-RB
2-LB
4-CB

2-DM
3-CM
2-CAM

2-RW
2-LW
5-ST

I am getting all the legends from this website.

Sorry I won't be doing any polls because it will take up too much time. I will create my opinion on the Legends XI. I will not include current football players (Ronaldinho, Messi, Buffon, etc.)

Legends XI

The team has been chosen, to much controversy. I tried to find the best of the best in the business, I had to compare the likes of Sir Stanley Matthews to Ryan Giggs, Pavel Nedved to Sir Bobby Charlton, Patrick Vieira to Lothar Matthaus. It wasn't easy selecting the team but I am glad I chose this team. I apologize if I left out some brilliant players, I did however research as much as I could this last hour or two. I will create the database as soon as I can.

Here is the team:

MANAGER: Sir Alex Ferguson

I am going to watch videos on some players and also use previous editor files on fm that have legends in them and I will cross examine all the statistics and come up with my own conclusions. I am 100% sure that all the players will have a PA of at least 190, otherwise how could they get their legendary status.

My experiment for today will be lewie100's request. I am twisting it to make it a little more complex.
I will relegate the following teams to either Conference North or South.

Conference South:
-Arsenal
-Chelsea
-Tottenham
-Southampton

Conference North:
-Manchester United
-Manchester City
-Liverpool
-Everton

Pretty good thread that I will check up on now and again :)

how about putting Pele and Maradona as 16 year olds with massive potential to decide who really is the greatest ever :)

Start them off at their first pro club and see how they get on over the course of their career

Just the league outlay. The teams in yellow are the teams that have remained in the same division. The teams in white have been promoted according to their current league position and club reputation.

I will submit this experiment early tomorrow morning because it will take to long to simulate since I am simming 10 seasons into the game. This is also a very large experiment where I will show you detailed club overviews and league updates from season 1 till season 10. I will show you transfers of the first 3 seasons.

Note: I have also left all the teams in the Champions League and Europa League and kept their reputation the same. All I did was drop them to the Conference North/South.

I reckon one of the biggest wuestions in world football would be, What if the manchester united busby babes plane never crashed ? How dominent would they have been! Would duncan edwards have become the greatest

Like any Newcastle fan would the magpies go back up the table if King Kev return, third time lucky for any cup!!!! Or if Sir Bobby Robson return from the dead (R.I.P) bringing his trusted Ast. Mang Jose Mourinho like he wanted to the first time.
Could England team from 1990 (finishing fourth in the WC) against today's national teams do better then last year or the team from 1996 (finishing 3rd in the euros).
Keep up the good work.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
First of all allow me to tell you that this idea has completely piqued my interest (enough to break my lurker status) ^^

And also it has rekindled a doubt I've had for a very long time now...
Putting it into practice might require plenty of effort and time, so feel free to turn it down if you see that you don't see viable to pour so much work into a single "what if".

Anyway... Here it goes:
"What if all the Balcanic countries were still together?"
"What if all Balcanic countries were still playing under the flag of Yugoslavia?"
"What if players like Modric, Rakitic, Mandzukic, Mitrovic, Handanovic, Vucinc, Dzeko, Lulic, Begovic, Pandev... were part of the very same national squad?"

I've always had the gut feeling that such "Neo-Yugolsavia" would be one of Europe's most devastating national squads (maybe even one of Europe's Top 4 nations), but it would be lovely to see if such a hunch of mine is as true as I imagine it.

.P.S.: English is not my native language and I feel that my skills are pretty much rusty lately, so I apologize beforehand for any possible blunder I might have made while typing this.

Hey guys sorry I haven't posted. I happened to break my laptop screen. I sent it in for repairs yesterday only because I tired to be a super hero and fix it myself (which failed of course). I saved the game on my hard drive and managed to download FM2015 on my old laptop, which I got working this morning. I do apologize for the long wait. I will be posting the Top Division Drop Outs soon and then I will also do another one or two simple stories by today just to make up for it.

The Top Division Drop Outs I didn't want to take many screenshots so then I decided to just make an excel file on each of the teams performances in the leagues and cups. I will also show manager history. I won't show transfer history because there are just far too many screenshots for that.

Thank you guys for your patience.

What if... England's Top Club Got Dropped?

How will the best 8 clubs fair if they were to get relegated all the way to the Conference North/South. Well I am here to test that, to see which clubs will get left behind and which clubs will go back to their regular winning ways.

CONFERENCE SOUTH
View attachment 320633
Best team: Chelsea
Worst team: Tottenham

It looks like spurs and saints had a tough time getting out of non-league football. Arsenal and Chelsea strolled their way back to the top, especially Chelsea.

CONFERENCE NORTH

Best Team: Manchester City
Worst Team: Everton/ Liverpool

No surprises really, Liverpool haven't really settled and adapted well in the top 2 divisions as well as Everton despite being promoted to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season. The Manchester clubs have don what they always do which is dominate English football despite United slipping out to 12th this last season.

OVERALL OVERVIEW
The top teams will slowly find their way back to the top. Within 10 seasons 5 of the 8 clubs had tasted Premier League football (and one more entering it next season). This experiment has not really been a disappointment because as expected Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City did quickly get into the Premier League and settled in. The biggest shock really is how badly Spurs and Liverpool did. Lets just say if you are loyal and patient enough you can slowly get your way back to the top. A real life example is AFC Wimbledon who started from the bottom tiers of English Football and slowly climbed to League 2. Anything is possible.

What if Messi stayed in Argentina, most likely in Newell´s Old Boys? would he have developed to be the best of the world or not?

Love this!!! Want to see what would be if Ronaldo had signed for Liverpool. Fantastic work with the graphics too KIU mate
