It was a memorable game for the whole of England tonight as the national team put in an impeccable performance in front of their loyal fans at Wembley. The World Cup finalists came away with a 6-1 win. Jermain Defoe took away the match ball with a hattrick, whilst Wayne Rooney notched a brace and Steven Gerrard banged the sixth home from 25 yards. Daniel Oakes handed full England debut to Everton left back Leighton Baines and he played very well.

Daniel Oakes said:
For the first game with my new tactic for the team, I think we did pretty well. In all seriousness, this is the best performance I have seen from them since I took over. Every player out on that pitch impressed me and it will take some bad luck for the individuals to miss out on the next team. I hope we can carry on playing like this.

Debutant speaks of pride over debut

Last week Everton left back Leighton Baines made his full debut for the England national team and put in a very good performance.

Leighton Baines said:
I am very proud to have achieved my full debut for my country. It is an absolute honour and have looked forward to this moment ever since I was a kid. I now hope that I can do enough to persuade Daniel to keep me in the side.

England see off the Czech in thriller

In a great game in the Czech Republic, the Three Lions just about prevailed in a friendly. A brace from Wayne Rooney and another goal from Jermain Defoe were just about enough to see off the Czech's. England took a two goal lead twice and the Czech Republic came back with a goal twice. The World Cup finalists did just enough to win the game.

A brace from Wayne Rooney led England to a narrow victory here in Bulgaria. The Manchester United striker was in emphatic form as he dangered the Bulgarian defence at every opportunity. Glad to see this is backk :D

Seem to be waltzing through the qualifiers. :)

I got the exact same group in my save mate (and story, below). I think the teams must be pre-set, rather than a "draw" which takes place in the game. :) Glad also to see this is back!

Bliming heck mate, that is shocking :O They are predetermined :'( Would be nice to get different teams wouldnt it?
