Former British Islands - FBI

Having finally got incredibly ****** off with the United Kingdom's bullshit, several of the nations former regions have split away and formed their own continent. For a limited period those regions opened their doors in an effort to bolster their respective populations however due to restricted living space, these new 'nations' permitted a maximum population of only 150,000. After that, each nation pretty much closed its borders.

Orkney
Shetland
Outer Hebrides
Inner Hebrides
Skye
Isle of Man
Isle of Wight
Anglesey

Guernsey

The first thing those nations did because at the end of the day they're formerly British, was to each create national Football Associations and shortly thereafter a continental governing body ? the FBIFA.

Stadiums with varying capacities from 5,000 ? 15,000 were built ? though national stadiums generally had capacities of 25,000 ? 40,000.

Money was ploughed into these new governing bodies, as inhabitants of these new nations needed something familiar ? high quality football ? to ease the transition into their new-found independence.

Each nations football league consists of two divisions, a Premiership and Championship, of 16 teams, making 32 professional football clubs per nation. Clubs have a limit of three foreign players in their squad due to tightly imposed immigration laws, and work permits are incredibly difficult to attain.

The top two teams from each Premiership at the end of a season qualify for the FBI Champions Cup, whereas third and fourth place from each Premiership gain entry into the FBI Cup. FA Cup winners qualify for the FBI Cup Winners Cup. In the event that the FA Cup winners are placed 1st ? 4th, the runners up qualify for the latter competition. All three continental contests consist of a series of knockout rounds.

Leagues consist of two rounds, each team playing each other twice making a 30 game season.

Each nation has three domestic cups; a League Cup featuring all teams, an FA Cup featuring teams from the Premiership only ? the winners qualifying for the FBI Cup Winners Cup ? and a Super Cup between the FA Cup & Premiership champions.

The bottom two teams from each Premiership are relegated to the Championship. The top team from each Championship gains automatic promotion and teams placed 2nd-5th compete in a playoff competition, the winner also being promoted.

At international level, two groups of five teams compete in league format with the top team from each group progressing to the World Cup. Continental International competition is the FBI Championships. All nations gain automatic entry with no need for qualification, whilst the contest itself consists of two groups of five, the top four from each group progressing to the knock out stages.

In addition, the Falkland Islands have declared themselves independent from the UK and joined South America.

OK, so this is purely in the 'idea' phase at the moment but what do you guys reckon? More to the point, is anyone savvy enough with the editor to give me a crash course? Creating leagues/teams/stadiums etc I have no problems with, but new nations/continent/regions/continental & international rules... I don't even know where to begin with that!
