I finished 7th in the league which I'm pretty miffed about because Ive missed out on Europe again! I also got to the final of the Carling Cup but lost to Chelsea. I was also knocked out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round to Blackburn. So overall a better season than last year but dissapointing because I had targeted a 5-6th finish.

Minimum Expectations
Angel di Chiara has stated that he expects me to finish in the top ten this season. However, after extended discussion we have both decided we should be more ambitious to move the club forward. Therefore he gave me £18M to spend to acheive European qualification. I also took time to talk to assisant manager Steve Clarke and he has suggested that I need to strenghten both full back positions, my striking options and my defensive midfielders. I have been given ridiculously hard fixtures to start my third season. They are Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City then Liverpool! Talk about a baptism of fire.

west ham have signed michael owen on a free transfer. the 31 year old striker had been a free agent since being released from manchester united. the striker had this to say

"im really happy to sign for west ham because they are a good side and can achieve good things hopefully we can win some silverwear this year."

west ham have signed another striker on a free transfer and this time its former arsenal and barcelona legend thierry henry. henry is getting on a few years now but still has the quality to do a good job for west ham.
