I need help with choosing players to take free kicks from different positions.
Should right footed players be taking free kicks on the right or the left? And should left footed players be taking free kicks on the right or the left?
What do you find more effective? Any help is much appreciated.

Right footed players should be taking from the left and vice versa. Then it gets a bit of in swing and allows you to get a nice little flick on. :)

a right footed player, taking a kick from the left side, will curl the ball into the near post - and may be a better choice for a shot on goal, but a left footed player may be better at crossing it into the box for a header
and vice versa for the other side

Yes, the above answers are true, but if you are asking this because you want to know how to get the players to score from freekicks, then its down to the player's skill (FK/Corner/Crossing) and pretty much form and luck.
