I've checked a **** of a lot of forums and posts about Free Kick instructions, i.e. not who takes them, but what the individual players do for free kicks. I tend to prefer the team instruction of 'Short' for indirect free kicks, but for direct ones I'm stumped.

With one of the best free kick takers in the game I score about one a season (currently using 3 to 'Disrupt Wall' and one to 'Challenge Keeper').

Has anyone had regular success with direct free kicks? And if so, what routine do you use?

I just set the FK to 'Best Header'.

This way, any cheeky run will be picked up and headed in, but if there isn't anything on in terms of aerial attack, then the player standing over the free kick will most likely have a crack. So put your best free-kick taker over the ball and hope for the best and maybe just put some strong defenders up in the box.

That's just what I do, success can be found other ways though.

Aye I tried to stick it on best header, the problem comes from every single direct free kick which is fired at goal just not getting over the wall, nevermind actually finding its way in :)

Cheers for the help though.
