Tottenham hire new manager!

Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy has hired 34 year old Canadian Manager Robert Hay to replace Harry Redknapp with immediate effect. Redknapp, 67, had decided that it was time to retire and spend more time at home with his family.

Robert Hay, who had spent 4 years prior to this as manager of newly promoted Coca-Cola Championship side Havant & Waterlooville is said to be delighted to have taken over at such a big club and has already stated his desire to do big things at the club, including trying to improve on last years Euro Cup run where the team lost 1-0 in Extra Time to Italian side Napoli.

Daniel Levy stated that the reason he was keen to hire Hay as manager at Spurs was because of the way the young manager had risen through the leagues with former club Havant & W.

It has been rumored that Hay has been given around £16 million to spend by Daniel Levy this season and it has been rumored he intends to sign 18 year old striker Russell Edge from his former club Havant & W.

Hay Names new Australia Captain

Australia Boss Robert Hay has decided to replace Jason Culina as Captain appointing Tim Cahill as his replacement with Brett Emerton taking Cahill's place as Vice Captain

Australia hopelessly lose to Ukraine

A disappointing performance from the Australian team led to a disappointing defeat against Ukraine in Kiev tonight. A well taken free kick from 31 year old Ruslan Rotan put Australia in a sticky position just 6 minutes into the game. After that Australia never really seemed like challenging the Ukranians throughtout the game and where lucky to just concede 1 during the game. On the positive side new boys Rocky Visconte and Jared Alilovic both gave solid performances.

After that game Robert Hay will be hoping for a better performance at club level as he prepares to start his Premier League Campaign against West Brom.

Tottenham have also been drawn against Danish Side OB in the Europ Cup 4th Qualifying Round

Pre-season Friendlies

Luton 0 - 2 Tottenham (Russell Edge (2) )
Chievo 0 - 2 Tottenham (Robbie Keane (2) )
Linfield 0 - 6 Tottenham (Jermain Defoe (2), Aaron Lennon, Emmanuel Eboue (2), Peter Crouch)

Games

Tottenham V West Brom

MOM: Jermain Defoe (8.9, 1 Goal, 1 Assist)

An amazing start to my career at Spurs with the team never even having to break a sweat against a poor West Brom.

OB V Tottenham

MOM: Adam Larsen (8.2)

A dominant performance by the team that could have ended up scoring 4 or 5 in the game but had to settle for a disappointing 1-1. The important thing to take from the game was the away goal that put us ahead in the game.

Everton V Tottenham

MOM: Aaron Lennon (7.7, 1 Assist)

An even game where we held the lead for almost the whole game until Rodwell tied it up in the 86th minute. Going in to the end of the game the young Spanish Defensive Midfielder Koke scored a beautiful goal to win the game.

Tottenham V OB (1-1 on Aggregate)

MOM: Russell Edge (7.8, 1 Goal, 1 Assist)

Another dominant game against the Danish side with the team feeling much more comfortable in England and the scoreline showed that. Unfortunately Conor Casey had another good game against us which left us a little bit worried in the last 10 minutes until Edge scored to make it 4-2 on aggregate.

Tottenham V Fulham

MOM: Gareth Bale (7.8, 1 Assist)

An even game that was very well contested and Fulham deserved at least a draw out of it. Despite Fulham getting more shots than us we made use of our possession and came out on top at the end of the day.

Euro Cup Group Stage Draw

Tottenham have been drawn against German Side Stuttgart, Danish side AAB and Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest in the Euro Cup Group Stage. There first game in the group will be again Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena and there last game will be at the Energi Nord Arena against AAB.

I am very happy with the performance of the team this month winning all but the away game against OB. We sit in 1st at the start of September and our the only team in the league with a perfect record.

My Player of the Month

Jermain has been a main member of the strikeforce alongside Edge this month and hasn't had a bad game so yet.

Thanks, I was originally going to start the story as Havant but never got around to starting it till this season but hopefully they can do well without me.

Plucky Australia show that they are no pushovers

In a hard fought game in Melbourne Australia surprised the hosts of next years World Cup Brazil with a 1-1 draw. With an even first half Australia Captain Tim Cahill nearly gave the team the lead but was in an offside position when he recieved the ball. Later in the game Brazil finally opened the scoring with a wonderful goal from Left Back Marcelo. With things looking bad for the Aussies, Brett Emerton scored in injury time to tie up the game and send the Australian fans home in a buoyant mood

September Update

Games

Manchester City V Tottenham

MOM: Carlos Tevez (8.8, 2 Goals)

Horrible game, City out played us and we deserved to lose. A brace from Defoe gave us a slim chance of getting a point out of the game but unfortunately never happened.

Stuttgart V Tottenham

MOM: Christian Gentner (8.0)

Another game we were dominated in and where lucky to escape with a draw and to make the game worse Jamie O'Hara got injured in the last minutes of the game and will be out for around 2 months.

Tottenham V Sunderland

MOM: Niko Krankjar (9.0, 1 Goal)

An evenly matched game that left Spurs fan disappointed. After going 2 down we were hard pressed to score and eventually Palacios scored with 6 minutes to go. 4 minutes later Palacios scored again and we looked like we had salvaged a point from the game when Nemeth broke the fans hearts and left us 3 games without a win.

Wolves V Tottenham

MOM: James O'Shea (9.0, 2 Goals)

Another horrible game for us to make it 4 games without a win for us. O'Shea made it a horrible start for us and things didn't look good for us for most of the game. Defoe tied up the game and Edge put us in the lead 6 minutes before half time. 4 minutes after the break Maierhofer tied it up and then to make things worse O'Shea scored his 2nd goal of the game to put them back in front. Milijas finished the rout with 6 minutes from the end.

Tottenham V Blackburn

MOM: Wilson Palacios (8.6, 1 Assist)

After 4 poor performances in a row I was expecting the team to play like they did in the games last month. The game was very close but goals from Lennon, Huddlestone and Defoe gave us a long overdue win.

A very disappointing month with only wins at the start and end of the month to give the fans anything to celebrate. I am hoping October will be a much better month and that we can play like we did against Blackburn next month.

My Player of the Month

Defoe once again had a very good month for us netting 4 goal and getting 1 assist during the month.

October Update

Games

Tottenham V AAB

MOM: Jermain Defoe (8.8, 2 Goals)

My side went out and completely dominated the game. AAB weren't hardly in the game at all and were lucky to not give up more. A great start to the month and I hoped the form would continue

Middlesbrough V Tottenham

MOM: Steven Fletcher (7.3, 1 Goal)

Unlike most games of late in the league we actually dominated the possession in the game. Despite that ex-Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue gave Middlesbrough the lead in the 2nd half with an own goal and we never recovered from it.

Stoke V Tottenham

MOM: Phil Bruce (7.5, 1 Assist)

A very even game with a draw probably being the right result. Despite that a win would have been much better to help us towards getting back on track and up to challenging for a place in the top 4.

Dinamo Bucharest V Tottenham

MOM: Aaron Lennon (9.1, 2 Goals)

Another dominant Euro Cup game for us that, like the AAB game was not as close as the scoreline suggests. A good performance from the team has led us to our 2nd victory in the group and puts us on top halfway through.

Tottenham V Crystal Palace

MOM: Jermain Defoe (8.8, 2 Goals)

A game that we where the better team but was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested. A good solid win for the team.

Hull V Tottenham

MOM: Tom Huddlestone (7.7, 1 Goal)

An even match that we won but by the performance of the teams, neither team deserved to win. Even so I am very happy with the win as its always good to finish the month with a win.

Not a bad month despite a bad start in the league against Middlesbrough. Very happy that we are in the top 4 and top of our Euro Cup group.

Once again the 31 year old striker has been the stand out player in the team, scoring 5 goals in 6 games this month
