Barco gives us the lead straight from kick off away at Columbus Crew but they equalise wthin the quarter hour mark and within another six minutes the match was turned on its head. 2-1 to Columbus. We can't let our season fall apart now! Richter is put clean through by Leko but is unable to capitalise. Leko tees up Martinez and again we can't equalise. 2-1 down at half time. This is turning out to be another frustrating afternoon.

This was abysmal and not at all good enough..... very annoyed. Very tough training sessions this week. We've seemingly lost our cutting edge and were cut apart by Columbus numerous times. Nerve wrecking times with two more games this week and a HUGE Cup Final against LAFC. After the disappointment in the Campeones Cup, I'm eager to ensure the MLS Cup is in our cabinet at the end of the year.

Atlanta United - Mattheus Rossetto (23)
Philadelphia - Sergio Santos (69)
Philadelphia - Kacper Przybylko (82)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.00.59.png

Josef Martinez thought he'd broke the deadlock on 15 minutes but unfortunately the goalwas chalked off. Jose Martinez had the same problem 5 minutes later at the othe end. 0-0 it stayed until Matheus Rossetto poked home from a corner to give us a 1-0 lead. Escobar then rattled the crossbar with a header which denied us from doubling our lead to 2-0. We were forced into resting a few of our key players as they were extremely tired.

Blake manages to turn over a Josef Martinez header, he hasn't hit the same form as he'd done earlier in the season. Anton Blake has been sensational for Philadelphia. Sergio Santos latches onto a brilliant pass and tucks home with just 20 minutes remaining. They manage to nick a 2nd in the second half and now fly into a 2-1 lead with less than 10 remaining. Rossetto lashes wide late on. We have been so poor this 2nd half. Really embarrasing turn around and we are slipping away here. Words are needed!!!!!

AWFUL START. What is going on? We seem to be totally folding at the moment! We miss a huge chancded with n the opening 10 minutes, and Josef Martinez has a header blocked a minute later! Two huge chances go begging. Barco has a free kick right on the edge of the box but is unable to convert. Richter strikes a thunderbolt from 25 yards but is denied by the Orlando keeper. FINALLY!! EQUALISERR! Escobar threads Richter through and he dispatches his shot past the keeper. Fantastic finish. 1-1 GAME ON. Some neat passing football gets Escobar into a shooting position but hecan't make the most of it.

Really missing Gonzalo Martinez, Remedi and co at the moment. Bello and Adams also both out on the Disabled List along with McCalmont. We are lacking options up top. 61 minutes in, Josef Martinez steps up and dances round two and places beyond the keeper to make it 3-1. Surely we should get back on track with this performance.

WHAT A BELTER! Barco bends a pearler of a freekick into the topright hand corner of the net! 2-1! Long throw finds Dael Fry who touches onto Josef Martinez but he is unable to put the ball past Gallese, the Orlando keeper. Dwyer grabs his second of the game and gives us a real scare with 10 minutes or so left to play. Very well needed. Puts us right back in the driving seat.

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.25.55.png

It's all in our hands now! Just got to make sure we make the most of our games in hand. Our next game though is Los Angeles FC in the US Cup Final!!!

THE NEXT POST WILL BE ALL ABOUT THE US CUP FINAL VS. LOS ANGELES FC - 27TH AUGUST 2019.

WE ALSO HAVE NEW YORK RED BULLS IN THE MLS ON 31ST AUGUST 2019.

Starting XI vs. Los Angeles FC

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.39.18.png

We start with Remedi and Rossetto in the middle. Gonzalo Martinez will still be out for two weeks which is frustrating and he won't be available. Jonathan Leko continues in his role with Barco on the opposite side. Big day for us today. We've had a short history but we have big chance to write our names in the record books and start as we mean to go on.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

FIRST HALF

Los Angeles FC - Brian Rodriguez (34)

Jonathan Leko goes close early on smashing across the face of the goal. We take cntrol of possesion and look to be running the show, dominating possession. Richter also went extremely close forcing a save from the LAFC keeper. Another header from Richter meant we'd taken full control creating multiple chances before teh 2 minute mark. Barco puts through Martinez who unfortunately can't put the ball in the net. It remains 0-0 at 25 minutes in. Reaching the half hour mark, we should have been up but instead found ourselves 1-0 down totally against the run of play. Leko goes close again but again, we can't put it away. 1-0 it remains. AGAIN Vermeer with a superb save todeny us an equaliser. Come the end of the first half, we were still 1-0 down and extremely frustrated given the course of the match so far.

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.48.37.png

SECOND HALF

Atlanta United - Jonathan Leko (51)
Atlanta United - Marco Richter (60)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.57.17.png

Schoenfield thought he'd double LAFC's lead but luckily it was ruled out for offside. LEKO EQUALISES!! Brilliant ball from Castillo picks out Jonathan Leko at the back post who equalises for us! Nothing less than we deserve! An LAFC attack breaks down and a swift counter attack which goes from Leko to Barco to Richter sees us take the lead for the first time this afternoon! 2-1!! Keep it tight at the back now and we will be golden. Leko and Barco have had a fine afternoon. A quiet rest of the second half. RICHTER WINSA CORNER, we're into 90+3 minutes now, surely thats got to be it?!

WE ARE CROWNED US OPEN CUP CHAMPIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE CLUBS LONG 2 YEAR HISTORY!

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 01.56.19.png

A truly joyous day in my career. Especially after coming from behind to win. We kept our heads and ensured that we came back and got the job done! Extremely proud and elated at the moment. So excited for my players who are delighted and partying! They'll be allowed tonight but it'll be back to work tomorrow afternoon to try and secure the Eastern Conference title and Supporters Shield Championship!

Atlanta United - Edgar Castillo (90+4)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 02.25.38.png

Martinez tees up Leko and then Richter tees up Martinez to give us a two goal cushion at half time. A good start from us and one we definitely needed. Escobar is suspended so we've brought Meza across to right back and left Robinson at centre back.

Castillo rattles the post early in the second half and we continue to pepper their goal with a sequence of consecutive corners. Great performance from Guzan between the sticks as he shows the sign of a good keeper. Not having anything to do and then pulling a brilliant save out of the bag. Edgar Castillo finished the game off nicely for us in extra time, making it 3-0 and a comfortable three points. This is much more like it.

We take huge steps towards the top of the league here, a fantastic performance thus far. A league win in both leagues would be huge for us and its now in our hands as we find ourselves clear by one point. What started out as a poor month, losing the Campeones Cup to Tigres and losing a few games in the league. We managed to turn it around. I hope now going into these last few months of the season, we can tie up the league as I believe we deserve it.

DELIGHTED to win my first piece of silverware, beating LAFC in the Cup final and its something that'll live with me forever, a truly special moment. Very excited. Looking forward to next month. Preview the fixtures below as we edge towards the home stretch..

Congrats on the Cup! Will you be staying at Atlanta if you win the MLS?

Thank you mate, I am not sure, I am umming and arring about that one, I'm either going to go to Europe or Mexico if I win the Cup I think. I do like North America but the rules are a little frustrating when selecting squads!

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 02.55.09.png

We start the month off with a LOT of great news so we will start with that as we've had a lot of bad news recently! Delighted to announce Alfie McCalmont is now being removed from the Disabled List and he will now be available for selection for these upcoming crunch fixtures. We will work at getting him up to match fitness.

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 02.56.06.png

Monthly Manager Review from Carlos Bocanegra is FANTASTIC. A+! They think I'm doing an unbelievable job and am putting a smile on every supporters face! I can't help but smile when I read reports like this from my superiors! I am extremely excited now for the months ahead and too hopefully accomplish what I came here to do and thats to win the MLS!

Talented fullback returns, George Bello after a short period on the sidelines. He won't be able to be re-registered as of yet. He will be once the 6 game period is over.

Chicago - Johan Kappelhof (45+2)
Atlanta United - Marco Richter (53)
Atlanta United - Dael Fry (65)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 03.16.43.png

A very quiet first half from both sides, not much happening. We had the better of the opportunities but nothing really clear cut. Goodrum had a good shot saved but was offside anyway. We dominated possession in the 1st half but ended up going 1-0 down in added time.

Marco Richter scored a fantastic equaliser after being teed up by Leko. Dael Fry - a second half sub nods home from a long throw in to give us a 2-1 lead, which we deserve. Marco Richter had another chance to seal the game up but was only able to hit the post. We held on by the skin of our teeth and managed to get over the line! 2-1 victory. Will put going behind down to the fatigue of the fixtures in August. We have a nice break now. Josef Martinez was also unavaialble as he was selected for International Duty so I am glad we were able to get over the line. Nice two week break now to get us all back recovered.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Just as Gonzalo Martinez seems to be set to return, we are dealt a massive blow for the rest of the season. Lets hope our Physio team can ensure we get him back before the end of the season.

Toronto FC - Teal Bunbury (45+2)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 03.41.20.png

They take the lead against the run of play at the end of an uneventful first half. 60 percent posesssion means nothing if you don't make it count.. Fry went close from a freekick but was unable to convert. Approaching the last 15 minutes, we lacked a cutting edge today and I hope that the return of Gonzalo Martinez will be the boost we need.

Lowest scorers Kansas manage to score first AGAIN. This is all too regular now. Jonathan Leko, Gonzalo Martinez and Ezequiel Barco are all out injured and unavailable for this game meaning I'm incredibly light on the wings. Dael Fry continued to press them but we were unable to make the most of the chances we've managed to create.

In the second half, the breakthrough finally came, Marco Richter firing home from a Josef Martinez pass levelled up proceedings. Then a fantastic move finished with an assist from Conway for Josef Martinez allowed us to take control and take the lead for the first time. 2-1. PENALTY to KANSAS. Dispatched comfortably for 2-2. REALLY ANNOYING and frustrating. We've been the mch better side here even though we're missing players. FANTASTIC GOAL FROM THE ONE AND ONLY VENEZUELAN GOD, JOSEF MARTINEZ!!! Silence from the Kansas City supporters. Into added time, can we hold on?

Atlanta United - Marco Richter (71)

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 04.18.17.png

Dael Fry tucked away the opening from a flick on but was adjudged offside. A poor first half ended in a bore 0-0 draw. Jackson Conway has missed a couple of fantastic opportunities to put us in the lead. We edge closer and closer with freekicks from Rossetto going close and efforts from Richter being stopped by Hamid in the D.C United net.

FINALLY WE GET THE BREAK THROUGH! D.C United fall behind as Richter lashes hope with 20 minutes remaining. STUPID MISTAKE allows D.C United to equalise through Ola Kamara. REALLY ANNOYED WITH THIS. Silly attack down the left leaves us wide open to the counter and its clinical. We were robbed.

We've unfortunately let ourselves slip in the Supporters Shield and will now have to rely on a mistake from LA Galaxy to allow us to win that. However, we do look set to win the Eastern Conference if we can pick up maximum points from the next two games. We go into a season defining month now. I am desperate to ensure we do ourselves justice.

Atlanta United - Lamin Jawneh (31)

At half time, we lead 1-0. LA Galaxy are drawing at home to Cincinatti and we're hopeful they'll be able to do us a huge favour and make LA Galaxy drop points.

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 06.03.40.png

Bojan gave us an early scare in the second half grazing the post of Guzan but we were able to shake it off. We had to play three youth players in Conway, Goodrum and Jawneh due to Barco being injured and Martinez still being on the list. Dael Fry had a header disallowed just after Victor Wanyama was sent off for a second yellow card offence. Leko was only fit enough to make the bench and Richter was out through suspension.

LA Galaxy are now leading so it looks as though the Supporters Shield may be slightly out of our grasp this year, we have to hope.

Looks like that dream may not be a reality however, we had a fantastic run at the Supporters Shield and we should be extremely proud of our achievements. Especially due to the injury crisis (an understatement) during the last few months of the campaign. I am proud of the lads that we managed to battle and grind out results. Josef Martinez was almost able to secure the 3 points but almost broke the post before richocheting out for a throwin. We managed to hold on and do our part to ensure we secured a record breaking season.

LA GALAXY WIN THE SUPPORTERS' SHIELD BY 2 POINTS

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 06.04.40.png

We will now take a well needed break with no fixtures now scheduled - the advantage of qualifying as the leader means we are automatically into the Semi final of the cup. Six wild card teams will now battle it out to see who else can make it into the Semi Finals.

Delighted to finish comfortably at the top of the Eastern division. Work isn't done yet and we need to ensure we get to the final and win it!
__________________________________________________________________________________________________

HUGE GAME - SEMI FINAL TIME - we come up against Columbus Crew - who we've defeated and lost to this year. We need to be at our best. Brad Guzan will be out injured for the next 4/5 weeks and therefore will be unavailable. As will Gonzalo Martinez. Leko and Barco are partly recovered, just enough to play some part. Richter returns from supension whilst Jawneh plays from the Left Wing. McCalmont, Leko are both on the bench.

Was anyone else going to do it? NO! Josef Martinez breaks the deadlock very early on and gives us a great platform to build upon! Adi comes back to bite us again as he eqaulises early on in the 22nd minute. They're joy is short lived again as Josef Martinez fires home after a smart bit of play down the left from Jawneh. Before I could blink, we had a cushion as Marco Richter fires a powerful effort from the edge of the box into the back of the net to give us a three goal lead before half time. A stunning first half performance from the lads leaves us in a fantastic postition to advance to the MLS Eastern Conference Finals.

At half time, I replace Barco with Leko to ensure we don't unneccessarily risk him. We started brightly again in the second half with a shot from Josef Martinez blocked with a last ditch challenge. Delighted with the performance from the lads, we dominated possession and continued to create chances until Fanendo Adi again stung us in the tail against the run of play to make it 4-2. They then put some pressure on us but we were able to keep it tight at the back until the final whistle. Remedi finished it off for us in the final seconds with a beautiful finish to make it 5-2. VERY PROUD OF THE BOYS AND EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL - HERE WE COME!

So.. it all boils down to this. A huge match in Atlanta's history and it would be a very difficult one. I go round and see all of my players before the game anad tell them to go out and enjoy it - they aren't many bigger games they will ever play in. 71,000 fans, over 67,000 Atlanta fans. This. Is. It. C'MON FIVE STRIPES!!

STARTING XI FOR BOTH SIDES

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 06.14.39.png

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 06.26.57.png

We started the better of the two sides, Marco Richter making a great run on the right hand side but Josef Martinez was unable to find the net. Edgar Castillo whose been an ever present at left back was unable to fire past the Toronto keeper either but we continued to bang on the door. Bunbury then went close for Toronto. A player, we know too well about! No clear cut chances either way as we pass the half hour mark. Neither side wanting to give the other an opening. 35 minutes in ad Eric Remedi is injured, a huge blow. McCalmont is the man we chose to replace him. 0-0 at the break.

Youngster Jawneh comes on for Leko whose injury seems to have him struggling. Barco moves back to the more comfortable role of AMR. Jawneh makes an instant impact, dancing past his full back and cutting back to Martinez whose shot is saved for acorner. From the resulting corner, Barco tees up Dael Fry who powers the ball home in front of the home supporters! 1-0 Atlanta! JAWNEH THEN PLAYS AN ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING BALL OVER THE TOP! Marco Richter traps it and fires home, 2-0 in the final! Just got to keep it tight at the back now! Richter plays through strike partner Martinez but hes unable to capitalise. McCalmont also goes close. Barco forces yet another save from the keeper who is keeping them in this. Christensen, between my sticks, has had nothing much to do. Michael Bradley is then SENT OFF for the visitors which leaves them in even more bother. Bono is keeping Toronto in this game. 3-0 Fernando Meza joins in on the action!

Richter goes through in the first few minutes of the first half but is unable to convert. It remains 0-0 but very bright start from the lads. Fernando Meza then plays through Josef Martinez who converts to make it 1-0 in the MLS Cup Final! A fantastic start for us in the first five minutes. Christensen is then called into action making a fine stop on 10 minutes to ensure we keep our lead. Marco Richter then takes it upon himself to disposesses the centre half and runs through to double ourlead 2-0! 16 goals for the season in his inaugral MLS campaign and hes been impressive. Escobar then tees up Josef Martinez for his second! We are tearing San Jose apart at the back and they don't know how to deal with us.3-0 up within half an hour is better than I couldn't dreamed! Leko then gave another chance to Martinez who fluffed his lines. Leko almost joined the party on the stroke of half time denied only by a desperate save from their keeper.

A quiet start to the second half but one I was extrmely pleased with. I aws expecting San Jose to come out all guns blazing but they've been very tame as though they don't want to conceded any more and embarrass themselves. It means despite having less possession, San Jose aren't creating anything at all in our final third.

San Jose were able to nick a goal back to give them some hope in the 77th minute but we managed to quell their attack and limit them to as few chances.

SEASON REVIEW AND FUTURE PLANS FOR VICTOR EZE IN THE NEXT POST TOMORROW - HOPE YOUR ALL ENJOYING / ENJOYED READING. PLEASE LEAVE ANY COMMENTS ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE, ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SEE LESS/MORE OF OR ANY THING YOU WANT SHOWING IN GAME.

Thank you all! Crayth (y)

Congrats on the treble. I am tempted by a MLS save but the rules confuse me a little. I am guessing the disabled list is basically an injured reserved list (Ice Hockey terms)?

And looking at that photo on the end of season awards, is the photo next to the Atlanta badge Ryan Getzlaf of Anaheim Ducks?

Thank you mate! Was delighted to get it done. RE: Disabled List - yeah, it means you can unregister them when they are injured and re-register when fit again.

In response to your second question, I'm not entirely sure. I'm using Zealands Face Pack for Regens so it might have selected the face from there, I am not sure mate? :)

WHERE DO I GO NEXT? EUROPE / MEXICO

Where should Victor Eze go next after winning the MLS?

A) Stay in the MLS with Atlanta?
B) Go to Europe (England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain)?
C) Wait until Mexico is added to my game on 6/7/2020?

VICTOR EZE RESIGNS FORM ATLANTA UNITED FC

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 17.04.27.png

It was with a heavy heart, I decided to call the Atlanta United owner and let him know of my decision to resign. After a fantastic spell in charge where we accomplished all the goals set out in front of me, I decided I needed another challenge in another country. I was followed out of the club by ten of the staff I'd brought in.

I will now take a short break to recharge my batteries and ponder my next move. I can happily say I came too the US and I conquered and accomplished the challenges I'd set for myself. A brilliant year and some experiences I will never forget. The future looks bright for me and I can't wait to get into my next job in management.

Good luck with your next job. What positions are vacant at the moment?

Sheffield Wednesday have offered an interview to take over as manager. Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Toronto FC are all available aswell and keen.

I've also interviewed for the Derby job but it wasn't one I was entirely sure about. The Championship seem interested but I am more ambitious and would hope to get into a top league elsewhere and may hold on until I get that offer from somewhere.

So..... Zidane left Real Madrid.. I had to didn't I? Was very surprised to see a very nice reply from Florentino Perez advising they were looking elsewhere due to the strenght of the other candidates but placed on record, I would have been a good fit.

I've now been offered an interview for the vacant Crystal Palace job........ updates coming soon. Where will I end up?!

Crystal Palace have approaached me and offered me a two year deal. They are currently in relegation trouble and are looking for someone to guide them to safety.

I've been given a very healthy budget of £20 million to work with in the transfer windows.

CRYSTAL PALACE HIRE EZE!

I've had a quick report on our team and judging by some of the talent in our squad, we should be NOWHERE near the dropzone in the Premier League. Benteke, Ayew, Townsend and Zaha are a quality front four and a defensive unit including Kurzawa, Sakho and Cahill shouldn't take much to get back into their shape.

I arrive with just 16 games played of the Premier League campaign which gives me a big chance to turn this around. With just six points between us and 14th placed Southampton, we are within touching distance of safety and hopefully the new manager bounce will help us to spring up the league.

Screenshot 2020-04-17 at 19.45.01.png

The first thing I do when arriving in a new job is select my own backroom staff. Once I've done that, I can then look at what areas I need to strengthen in the playing staff. I know this is going to be a big challenge but it is one I am delighted to accept and I look forward to saving Crystal Palace from relegation and looking forward.

A NEW CHAPTER IN MY CAREER, RETURNING HOME TO THE UK!
