FULHAM BOSS TO BE BUSY IN TRANSFER MARKET

_45335134_nadir226getty.gif

Newly appointed Fulham manager Ed Syers has today revealed that he is looking at bringing two or three new faces into the squad
to freshen their Europa League charge. It is widely believed that left-back is a position that will be looked at,
with Nadir Belhadj, Martin Olssen and Diego Renan all being linked the Cottagers. The focus for now, however, is on those going the other way,
as Syers seems keen to get rid of some dead wood that has been left rotting in the Fulham reserves.

Good luck mate, Bugu and I will be assessing your performance as manager closely, and we are looking for a top half finish.

SQUAD LOOKING GOOD AS SEASON DRAWS NEAR

The Fulham squad is finally starting to take shape after manager Ed Syers made some drastic changes during the transfer market.
As promised, a left-back was drafted in in the form of Maynor Figueroa. The Honduras international had a successful spell at the
DW Stadium but had welcomed the chance to play under Syers. Also joining the club is former Liverpool and Leeds winger Harry Kewell,
who was a free agent after being released by Galatasaray. The Cottagers wore off the likes of Real Madrid and Valencia to capture the
Austrailian's signature. James Rodriquez, a promising young midfielder, was also drafted in. Another central midfielder may also be on the horizon,
although Fulham have recently been priced out of moves for Christian Poulson and Hernanes. A mass exodus paved the way for
a wave of fresh faces in the Fulham dressing room, with the likes of Zoltan Gera and Diomansy Kamara leaving the club.
Transfer History

The squad are said to very confident going into their opening Premier League game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, after a strong pre-season.
The club scored 19 goals in Friendlies last month, as well as finishing 3rd in the friendly tornement, being beaten only by a strong Sporting CP side.

Great update mate, I look forward to the Europa League you promised success in! ;)

Excellent amount of money you got for Kamara, is that the business in the transfer market over this window?

Some good transfers and pre-season results there Ed.

Hopefully you can continue that in the league.

Lorenzo: I'm growing impatient with Syers

Fulham vice-chairman James Lorenzo has revealed his growing frustration with newly appointed manager Ed Syers

Syers only took the helm at Fulham recently, appointed by Chairman Tony Procter, but Procter's deputy has already been quoted as saying he is "annoyed by the lack of development since Syer's appointment."

Lorenzo has sent out a warning shot to his manager, a sign of things to come. Chairman Toiny Procter is yet to make a formal announcement on the subject, but many believe he will have to choose who to stand by - his manager, or his deputy. Fulham fans have been particularly worried by the turbulent changes at the club they love. The sale of fan favourite John Paintsil was said to have upset several sections of the support, who had been dissapointed Syers had "flogged" the Ghana national.

I'm nearly at the end of the month, dont worry.
Update will be in the next hour or so. :)

STEADY START BY FULHAM BOSS

craven-cottage.jpg

With the first month of the new season over, Fulham fans will be relatively happy. Although not being blown away, they have seen their team
overturn a strong Stoke squad, as well as beating Blackpool in a thrilling encounter. Draws with newly promoted West Brom and Newcastle
weren't convincing, yet the squad looks strong and seems to be gelling well. On a negative note, new signing Harry Kewell has
suffered a broken foot in training, which could see him out for up to four months.

hope result's pick up mate, good position but to be fair you played Stoke and the 3 premier league new-boys...

I know, not the best of starts, but we've been on top in every game so far and were seconds away from beating Newcastle. Still, a few good results and I'll be back in favour with the bosses

Just realised I'm using StuW's Update, meaning Fulham aren't in the Europa League :'(
Updating soon

FULHAM REMAIN UNBEATEN

A strong and organised defence has come in handy for under-pressure boss Ed Syers in the past couple of months, although a weak
forward line has resulted in draws being the usual result. After the international break, Fulham travelled to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton,
who found it difficult to break down Fulham's back line. The same was said about league challengers Arsenal, who amassed an
impressive 25 shots on goal without finding a breakthrough. Fulham then picked up their game by securing two consecutive 1-0 victories,
including a win over Newcastle to take them into a Carling Cup 4th round tie against Everton. The month also saw fulham pick up their
fourth summer signing, that of experienced midfielder Ariel Ibagaza on a free from Villarreal

A MONTH OF TWO HALFS

October was a strange month to say the least, as Fulham ended their unbeaten streak with a 1-0 defeat to Everton. Things went from bad to
worse just days later, losing to Manchester City in a thrilling encounter at Eastlands. The Cottagers, who went 3-0 down early on, were completely
transformed during the second half and could easily have have clawed back level, eventually losing 3-2. Syers feared the worse, and
eventually brought in a new tactic in order to change things around. It clearly had a positive impact, comprehensively beating european challengers
Aston Villa before progressing to the Carling Cup quarter-final with an impressive 2-0 win against Everton.
