What do I have to do to fuse 2 nations? I want the Netherlands and Belgium to be one nation, just like there has been talking about IRL. I just almost get nerdgasms thinking about it: the midfield and attacking of the Netherlands and the defenders of Belgium, that makes up for a really powerful team.

But how do I do this? Ofc, I'd change one of the names to something like 'Nether-Belgium'. But what about the nations of the player? Do I have to single-handedly change them? Is there a massa-editor in the FMEditor? The teams in the leagues aren't a problem, the biggest one in either one of the top leagues (jupiler league or Eredivisie) and the other ones in the second and third and so on.

My biggest questionmark is about the nations. How am I about to tackle that problem? If someone could tell me that, I'd be grateful.

Cheers.

you'd have to move everything from one nation to the other one and then create a dummy nation in place of the old one so the world cup and euro qualifying still works, also it might be worth adding luxembourg in there aswell, not that they would actually add anything in football terms but that way you can call it benelux which is the region they are in similar to how england is part of britain and estonia is a baltic nation.

if you're going to include luxembourg and create benelux then you should move everything into the netherlands so that tehy keep the dutch history, and then create the 2 empty nations into kosovo and basque or other european states that are looking to gain autonomy.

But what about the nations of the players? How am I supposed to change all that?

I don't know mate but just imagine the lineup!!!

i'm not 100% on this but if you move all of the cities across that might do it for you, otherwise you can filter it to the players of the old nation and then mass edit there antionality across to the new nationand making them decalred for nation so you don't hae to individually go back through them and change all of the second nationalities of any players that were part belgium and part dutch.

And how do you massedit in the editor? That's just something I need to know to get started.

You want to fuse two nations ? You can't do that. What you can is crate new nation and transfer all players, clubs, cities etc etc into that nation. But it should cause a crash dump im afraid.

Uhh... no. I combined Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and Sweden (=Nordic Countries) in FM11 and it worked fine in my testings.

I just did the players' nationality part by searching for all of the aforementioned nationalities, selecting them all and changing them to the Faroe Islands. I also took the averages of the coefficients, rankings and stuff.

if you click the first one on the list, then hold shift whilst clicking one lower down the list then it will select both of those plus all the ones in between them, then click edit, if yuo want to edit some but not others then hold ctrl instead as that only selects the ones you've clicked and you can then click them all individually before clicking edit.

Thanks Sammy and Fonzie, you've been really helpful! Will start on this soon and will publish it for the ones who'd like to play with it too.

Still, you didn't fuse them, you just placed them into some other nation. Principe is the same, you cannot fuse them. SI removed 'delete' option for nations, so there's no way to delete those countries, I tried. You can't do it by editing XML nor with Advanced Editor. And those bastards disabled AE for 12.2.1 :S
Anyway, it's possible to do, but at some point it will crash dump. But it could last 3,4, maybe even 10 seasons, really dunno.

you can fuse two nations. I did this several times but it is very difficult .you have to re-do all the continental and international competitions that have relationships with these changes. believe me you dont want to do that :D

Like people have said it's very hard to do it takes a long time. I tried to do it making all the home nations one team I had to add every city and and all the players to that nation then when I did that the nation were not in the Euro's or WC qualifiers so it was a complete waste of time. The editor is really lacking when it comes to editing nations and I have always wanted to do a proper Nation league but that's also near impossible. It would be very easy for FM to sort out but hey ho. Anyway good luck your need it.
