would agreeing with a club to sell a player to them in the future for example at the beginning of next season or at the next transfer window affect affect a players performance?

my opinion would be that it would because it may distract them or make them not give one bout playing to their best for the rest of their time at the club

what do you guys think?

More than likely, however if it is a move to a bigger club and you are a smaller club that the player has been with for a while and knows he is staying with you to get game time, he may even improve his performances to impress the new team.

In real life, yeah, it would probably distract them.. On FM? I doubt it makes that much difference.. I've sold players with a future transfer date and I've seen little change in terms of performance.
