Game crashes when I tried to make a sub

I was in the 120th minute in a final, and I wanted to make a sub before it went to penalties to bring on a striker who was good at penalties (I was down to 10 men so had been playing without one). Unfortunatle extra time finished before the sub was made. It asked my to select my penalty-takers, which I did, but now I can't progress. I can still access other screens on FM, but there isn't a way to continue the match.

Any help?

Could be wrong, but maybe you need to go into the tactics screen and cancel the substitution as it never took place?

I can't, the tactics section was blurred out. I had to restart the match in the end
