game crashes

Does anyone now why I can no longer play this game due to it crashing! I can play until my first game but once i've selected my squad lots of error messages come up for example "not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1 of highlights.xml. I've tried deleting and re-installing steam and the game but this does not fix it?
