Hi all

I bought FM 2009 yesterday and installed it. Ive actually been playing FM 2006 for ages so have been looking forward to this game.
The thing is, its running so so so slow!!! I also cant view the game in 2D.
Im rubbish at all the computer speak but Ive attempted to get my system details so you could check that its ok for this game. Im worried that my video card isnt powerful enough.

I ran DX Diag as this is what I got:

Can anyone help please?

The computer itself is fine... apart from the graphics card which, i'm sorry i wouldn't put a cup of tea on!!! :-D

other than that because you said that its brand new have you updated the game on line?

also the 64mb card is a shared memory resource which means xp is controlling most of its resources, not a lot left for FM i'm affraid, try running it in windowed mode, might decrease it slightly...

ok this too could be fixed "Video Accel: " - - - its blank
go to intel's website and download the graphics media accelerator... it will increase your graphics card performance.

Thanks, ill give all that a go.

Yeah the patch update was done through Steam online.

Sorry for the slow reply, I forgot which forum i put this on lol

How do I do that?

I cant get that to work nor the video accelerator but nevermind. Im going to look into buying a new card instead. Any recommendations?
Going to take some time out to read up on tactics for my Villa team so I have time to do that and get a new card also.

Hmm, that's odd, your PC specs look decent enough to run the game, well I'm sorry but I can't work out what could be happening.

Its got to be the video card, its no where near the spec needed for the game. Are there any processes that I should close whilst im playing the game?

Hey man sorry to interrupt but your system is at 2% so the only process is the game...
Don't think its gonna help... oh and the accelorator is just a program... should work for everyone.

hi, i bought the game ages ago and i had it on my old computer and i mean OLD computer, anyway for my birthday i got a new computer and its got vista ill show you the specs.
Processor: 1 x Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 1.8GHz

Chipset: nVIDIA GeForce 7050
Standard Memory: 2GB
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Memory Technology: DDR2 SDRAM
Hard Drive: 250GB Serial ATA 7200 rpm
Optical Drive: DVD-Writer - DVD-RAM/±R/±RW

and whenever i play the game it just lag's too much, it doesnt run smoothly as it should.
if someone could just tell me if these spec's are good enough to run the game smoothly

thankyou

For anyone that is wondering whether their PC is powerful enough to run FM2009, may I direct your attention to the following site:

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

Select Football Manager 2009 from the drop down box and then click "Can I Run It". It will take a little whil to do its thing but you will get a report on whether your PC is good enough and if it is not, it will tell you where the PC is lacking. Hope this helps :D

Amazing Nurse Amazing.

If your concerned take it down to your Local non large company computer guys. They will give you more help than PC World or Currys as they are far more qualified.

cheers m8, i'll look up that site, thanks again

What did it say under the Graphic Card bit cos with a GeForce 7050, you will probably struggle cos, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have very good performance. I run a 7800GTX which is considerably better and yet even I struggle sometimes and the site said I am only just over the minimum spec required for graphics card. My advice would be to upgrade the Graphics Card

If on vista close stupid things down like Sidebar, don't need it while playing the game and can always be reloaded.

Try running the game by itself, no MSN, no firefox etc.. is it laptop or standalone pc?

Either way, check that it has a way of letting hot air out, when my laptop gets hot the game lags, cool it down and runs smooth as anything.

Few rubbish suggestions but could be tried before you go spending money!

Good luck!
