i posted on the steam help thread but it didnt seem to be getting many views and no responses.

I've been playing FM fine on steam for a number of years, all of a sudden the other day when I come to play FM and click the icon it says 'could not connect to the steam network'.
It is not an issue with my internet as I'm using that for other things.
Any ideas what i should do, and can i say goodbye to all my saved data

Just back up all your saved data, then reinstall.

Your saved games etc will all be in the default location i.e. My Documents\Sports Interactive\...

Make sure you move them somewhere else, and then go ahead and reinstall. I don't use steam, so thats the only thing I can think of - sorry.

so shall after iv moved my data shall i just delete EVERYTHING FM12 based then try reinstall?

it worked :D
it seemed so obvious to copy the file to somewhere else, don't know why i never thought of it.
i guess i know what il be doing all day seeing as i haven't been able to play it for ages
