International obligations. This has literally torn up my game-plan for a VITAL game away at Man' City. Between this and crash dumps I'll soon be dead.

I know what you mean!

I had three first team players for one of those games. :(

If you are playing with a team or which many are internationals, against the likes of Man City, I would infer that you are a Premier Division team. In this case there is only one thing to do: get a bigger squad. Older, declining players who are in the twilight of their career are often very cheap or free but make good back ups for such occasions and don't seem to mind ending their career in the Reserves for the most part. They also make great tutors for passing PPMs on to your young hopefuls. It's far from ideal when you want to field your very best, but better than being forced to play a team comprised of your worst U18s and the cleaner.
