As a northern I want to see a new club becoming bigger then both Sunderland and Newcastle so welcome to this new challenge of mine. Gateshead are in the lowest playable league in FM22 and by the time FM23 comes out , in this save they will be in the top challenging for the premier league.
However challenging and winning the league is not my only challenge, I want to make the club the richest in the north as well. The skin that I use allows me to see the club's value quiet easily,

As you can see Gateshead have a massive value of 70k, while Sunderland and Newcastle have a 42M and a 604M respectfully, so this might be a little bit of a challenge to try and get past these values any time soon, but we will see.
I will update yearly and see if the other clubs values can decrease as fast as mine increases.

Fantastic save idea this - My local team is blyth spartans so its interesting to see how successful this is with a familiar team! I've got carlisle to the championship but cant quite get past mid table with a bang average league one squad! Will be keeping eyes on this save - Good luck!

Thank You! Hopefully I don't disappoint

So it's a year later and progress has been made.
Firstly we won the league and we did it with a 10-point gap which I found to be a nice surprise

not only did we do really well in the league but in the FA Cup we managed to get into the third round, we even beat Leyton Orient who was 2 leagues above us, was a great game to watch!

A little bit of a shame in the FA trophy as we could only manage to get to the fourth round.

The biggest shock was after getting promoted we are expected to finish 5th in this new league which means my overall expectations are going to be slightly higher. Yes, we have brought in a lot of new players but the majority were youth releases, and under 23s I am not going to complain at all.

Now onto the secondary part of this challenge and that is making the club worth more than Sunderland and Newcastle. Well, we have had some improvements in that front as well, we have gone up a massive 90k! Only another 500+mil to go, Newcastle have gone down in value this season going from 604M to 553m so that's nice to see. However, Sunderland has gone up 32 Mil due to them winning league 1.
still some improvements to go but progress

Season 2 is over and done with and things have once again been very nice.
so first things, we won the league but even though it looked comfortable for a long time during the season Notts, Chesterfield and ourselves were swapping places and at some points even Aldershot came in to say hi, but towards the end of the season we kept our form while they all lost theirs.

now, the really good part, the FA Cup
20220924150720_1.jpg

do not ask me how but we got the quarter-final, not only that but we beat championship side SUNDERLAND!!! so our first rival match and us being 3 leagues below took them to penalties and won, I might have been screaming none stop at 3 am but we move, who even needs their neighbours to like them? The amount of money we got from gate receipts from the Leeds and Sunderland games was amazing!!
FA Trophy I do not want to talk about

Our best player last year was called Greg Olley and Burton came in with a 47k bid so we accepted as for our level that was a really nice lump, now imagine my surprise when he was released randomly throughout the season so of course we brought him back as a squad player as he is decent for league 2 level.

another fun one was getting in Sanagre for free, barely playing him as he didn't fit our system to well, but sold him to Birmingham for 70k I am not going to complain about that.

For some reason we are expected to finish 9th so maybe just maybe playoffs this season?

Now onto club values, things are't going so well here.
Yes our value has reached over 1m so that brilliant, however, Sunderland are over 90m now and Newcastle are now over 1B, this part might take a little while to get

Season 3 and once again we are improving drastically.
So straight onto the league, in the past for me league 2 and the championship are the hardest leagues to get out of but for some reason, with this team league 2 was a breeze, we won the league by over 20 points

I just don't get how I did it.
FA Cup, once again we went on a nice run making it to the fourth round once again, but the only downside this time was how we didn't get the same amount of gate receipts as last time which would of helped out greatly. But with a third round reply against leeds who we seem to play in every single cup meant we went to sheff wed and lost in a fourth round reply, but either way any additional money is always useful.

Carabao Cup
once again got to the fourth round and met out best friends Leeds who came back in the second half to destroy us which was a little bit of a let down as being 3-0 up at half time I was happy as all **** but it wasn't to be.

Now the best trophy in the game, Papa Johns where we got to the final! but lost the under 23 side of Machester United but still our first final!
My aim for next season is to win this as I really need the rep boost as dear god I cant find anyone half decent.
Transfers
well I am not going to complain to harshly with transfers as we broke our record sale with a nice 1m bid from stoke for our english wonderkid Edwards, got an average of 7.14 rating last season which I think increased his value a lot but when a bid of 1mil is sent to you when in league 2 you are instantly going to accept it.
signed fan favourite Taylor Charters for 150k but less then a week later broke his leg, this guy has been with use on loan for 3 seasons and this is his first long term injury which is just brilliant.

Interesting news, Sunderland offered us a job interview after sacking their manager, of course I didn't take it as I aim to destroy that team.

And finally.... I don't want to talk about the additional value challenge as well its just not fair.

I wont be making these sort of posts all the time but I just had to show people this.

I was shocked to get 1Mil for our right winger Edwards so imagine my shock when I managed to get a bidding war started with West Brom and Reading, getting them from 225k to a final accepted bid by my board of 1.4 Mil. This is why I love FM, also let me know would you pay 1.4mil for this defender who was rejected by Man Utd.

His potential is only Championship standard according to my coaches
