Gerard pique is a very good player but Not better than Vidic or Ferdinand.
 
I think Carles Puyol was amazing this match better than pique also didnt know pique came from united to tell u the truth
 
Not sure about that statement, best defender in Europe at the moment, he proved that in CL last season, consistent and comes up with the odd goal, Ferdinand has become a bit of a reliability this season and dropped out of England squad while Pique is first choice for Spain and Barca, I'm not denying that Vidic and Ferdinand are outstanding centre backs but Pique has developed into one of the best around and yes it was his decision to leave United, I remember a quote from an Interview with him, he said "The United players are lazy, I do not know how they win trophies as they live off beer and junk food". Made me laugh anyway, think his words may have been twisted as the press have been known to do but United turned him into quite a player.
 
When exactly was ferdinand dropped from the england squad.:O He'll definetly be first choice at the world cup.
One season does not make him the best in europe.
 
Ferdinand has been heavily criticised for his defending although he wasn't officially dropped due to his injury, and yes he will be first choice for world cup because England have no one better.

He was one of the best defenders in Europe for last season if you let me rectify my statement ;)
 
well Vidic was good last season till Liverpool match been **** since and he was being called best defender in Europe

Letting him and Giuseppe Rossi go was probably a bad move but maybe they wouldn't be as good in the Premiership
 
Pique is considered Barcelona's key centre-back now, and has overhauled their long standing defenders in a relatively short stay in Spain.

Good player, not seen much of him playing for Barcelona, but I was surprised Ferguson let him go, must have been because he wanted to go to Spain so much.
 
What the OP said is exactly any UTD fan would have been thinking after last season's final.
Being a huge Vidic fan I hate to admit it but after the liverpool game he hasn't been close to his best.
Pique on the other hand was my man of the match in CL final. That was the first time i had a good look at him and he blew me away. We'll have to wait another year or two before considering him the best but yeah he is up there with the best.

There is a buy back clause in Rossi's contract.

Also Ferdinand had been dismal this season for club and country before getting injured. He is far too pre-occupied with his stupid magazine and his off the field activites and it has shown on the pitch when hes played. His error in the Manchester derby was almost worth weeping over

I love Vidic and think he's a top player but c'mon Man Utd fans need to admit he has not been the same player since Torres destroyed him (seems to be habit now). He has not been the rock we knew him as and his confidence has definately taken a knock.
