German name fix not working?

I know this thread is old, but I also have the problem of the German national team using non-real players. I started my save game with the fake files deleted and thus the normal German players were being selected for the national team. I continued to deleted the fake files through the various game updates (17.2, 17.3 etc). But I must have missed it one time and now the German national team is made up of only non-real players and newgens.

I was under the assumption that because I deleted the fake files before I started this save game, I thought that the real German players would be selected upon the next national team call up. Is that not the case?
