As the World Cup is coming around I thought I'd do a story. I will carry this on even after the World Cup if people are still interested in it.

I have chosen to go as the German Legend Michael Ballack.

I will do single match updates. I may either do updates quickly or have some space between them to go along with the actual World Cup.​

Kick off:

10 Min: Reus runs down the wing, he cuts in, he has lost pepe, he lines up a shot.... oh my... that's gone miles over.


29 Min: Raul Meireles passes the ball to Ronaldo, Ronaldo with a run, he shoots.... and just wide. That is the closest both teams have come to scoring a goal today.


35 Min: Kroos with a long through ball to Ozil, Ozil with the turn and a lay off to Klose. Klose with a shot... Beto with the save Pepe with the clearance for Portugal.


Half Time:


48 Min: Kroos crosses it in from the corner, Hummels goes for the header... and Raul Meireles brings down Hummels in the box! PENALTY!!!


49 Min: Schweinsteiger puts the ball down, he takes 3 steps back. The whole stadium has gone silent. Schweinsteger runs up... and GOAL!!! 1-0 to Germany.

GOAL: Portugal 0-1 Germany
Schweinsteiger (49 min pen)


54 Min: Ronaldo is on the counter attack with Fernandes and Almeida along side him. He lays it off to Fernandes who lays it off to Almeida. Hugo Almeida one on one with the keeper. He shoots... Neuer with the save. A missed opportunity for Portugal.


56 Min (Sub): Muller comes off after a disappointing performance and on comes Schurrle.


60 Min: Lahm with the ball on the wing, he crosses it in for Ozil, Ozil with the dummy... and MY GOD! It's gone in! Lahm has scored an unintentional goal. The Portuguese defence did not expect that. 2-0 to Germany.

GOAL: Portugal 0-2 Germany
Lahm (60 min)


73 Min (Sub): Klose comes off after really not helping out in the attacking force much today and Mario Gomez comes on in his place.


85 min: Kroos with a misplaced pass, Ronaldo capitalises on it and passes the ball to Postiga. Postiga one on one and oh! He hits the post. I think that just sums up the match for Portugal.


88 min (Sub): Ozil comes off tired and is replaced by highly rated Ilkay Gundogan.


Final Whistle - I think we all expected a draw after the 1st half performance from both teams but Portugal dropped their concentration levels and Germany took advantage of it. 2 goals from Portuguese errors. 2-0 here at the Mineirao stadium.

He was impressive in both parts of the pitch. He was strong defensively yet got a goal to seal the victory for the team. Impressive first performance.​
 
I will be happy to hear any suggestions of my layout. If anyone thinks I should change my layout in any way I would be interested to hear it. After all, this story doesn't have as many matches as other stories so detail is important and I want to know if I'm doing enough.

Kick off:


7th Min: Ozil crosses the ball in, Gotze controls the ball and sets up for a shot... Hits the crossbar! Germany off to a fast start. Gotze was unlucky there to not get the goal.


9th Min: Reus runs down the left wing with the ball, he crosses it in to the near post... OZIL! OZIL HAS SCORED! A tap into the near post puts Germany 1-0 ahead and in position to qualify through to the next round of the World Cup.


GOAL! 1-0 Germany (Mesut Ozil)


27th Min: Essien chips the ball over the German defence but it looks like Boateng will get there before Gyan... BOATENG WITH THE ERROR! GYAN GRABS THE BALL AND SHOOTS.... GOALLLLLLL! 1-1 GHANA! Boateng will not forget that. What an error from the German defender. Ghana are back in this game.


GOAL! 1-1 Ghana (Asamoah Gyan)


Half Time: Score 1-1


47th Min: Ayew with the ball to Asamoah on the edge of the box. Asamoah goes for the chip seeing that Neuer is off his line.... AND WHAT A GOAL!!! Asamoah chips Neuer from the edge of the box. A good 20 yards. Ghana are ahead now and this could turn into an upset for Germany.


GOAL! 2-1 Ghana (Kwadwo Asamoah)


62nd Min: Ozil with the through ball to Reus, Reus tries for a shot and it's deflected off the defender and gone over the crossbar.


70th Min: Schrulle with a one-two with Lahm, Schrulle runs down the right wing. He crosses it in to the back post... REUS WITH THE GOAL FOR GERMANY! Reus with the tap in to make the match 2-2 and put Germany back in it. This match could go either way now.


GOAL! 2-2 Germany (Marco Reus)


FULL TIME: 2-2 - I think Ghana will be happy to have got that result but what a poor performance from one of the competition favourites Germany.

I downloaded an editor file from a website. You should be able to find it by searching for exactly what it is. if you need more help to find it, PM me.

Kick Off:


18th Min: Ozil has the ball, he looks for Reus on the wing and finds him. Reus cuts in, he lays it off to Muller! Muller is one on one, he shoots!... Tim Howard saves it and out it goes for a corner. Muller will be disappointed that he didn't finish that one off.


Half time:
Not much from either team in the first half with Muller having the best chance of the game. 0-0 is the score at half time.


48th Min: Donovan with the through ball to Boyd, Boyd goes for the shot; Hummels tackles the ball off Boyd, it rolls over to Kljestan. He has the goal all to himself. He shoots!... Neuer with an absolute wonder of a save.


76th Min: Ozil with the through ball to Schrulle inside the box. Schrulle one on one with the keeper. He shoots and that was too easy for Tim Howard. Schrulle just didn't do enough there.


90th Min: Kroos with a long over the top through ball to Gomez. Gomez is one on one with the keeper. OH NO! He took too long and the shot was just poor from Gomez. He couldn't get anything on the rebound of the shot as the defenders were there to clear it.


Full Time:
Germany will feel like they should have won this game and they will need to improve if they want to even have a chance at reaching the finals and winning the World Cup. Michael Ballack has to re-think his strategy and get Germany back to scoring goals.

Tim Howard deservedly got the man of the match award for this match. He did a great job of keeping the Germans from scoring.

Kick off:


12th Min: Ozil passes it through to Klose, Klose passes to Reus on the edge of the box. Reus has a shot... and Akinfeev saves it and out it goes for a corner.


28th Min: Anyukov slips with the ball just outside his box. Reus picks the ball up and shoots... Akinfeev Saves It! It bounced off the keepers hands and off the post. Anyukov with a huge mistake which could've cost his team a goal.


33rd Min: Schmelzer on the wing passes it to Bender in the middle. Bender with a deep cross into the box. It falls for Ozil... Ozil shoots... HE SCORES!!! Ozil with a magnificent touch and control to then finish it off into the bottom corner.


1-0 Germany (Ozil)


Half Time: That was a lot better from Germany. The score is only 1-0 but Germany have shown to be a better team.


54th Min: Reus is on the wing. He runs to the edge of the box, he drills it into Klose for a first time shot... AND OH NO! Klose hits the post and it goes out for a goal kick.


76th Min: The substitute Draxler has the ball and is running down the middle, he finds Muller inside the box. Muller takes a shot... AND ITS A GOAL!!! The Russian defenders are appealing for an Offside but the ref has gave the goal. 2-0 Germany with 15 mins to go.


2-0 Germany (Muller)


85th Min: Kombarov has the ball on the wing. He crosses it towards Pogrebnyak on the edge of the box. Pogrebnyak takes a


shot... AND GOAL!!! Russia have scored a goal to and may be in with a chance of a late eqauliser. Can they get back into the game this late?


2-1 Russia (Pogrebnyak)


Full Time: Germany outplayed Russia today but Michael Ballack needs to teach and tell his team to concentrate and play to their best for the full 90 minutes as Germany were poor after their 2nd goal and the Russians showed they could capitalise on Germany's lack of concentration.

Lars Bender did well to keep out the Russians and he played a big part in the defence for Germany today. Michael Ballack should be impressed by this performance and we may see Bender feature more in the German squad.

I didn't get much FM time due to watching the World Cup last month. I forgot all about this :P
