Getting into Football Manager.

Do you really enjoy Football Manager?

i would write a story but i have a feeling that i would end up just giving up coz im not very good at fm
 
I tend to go through stages of not being too into it, and then when I watch something like Match of the Day or the Football League Show, or even if I play a manager mode on Fifa I start to want to play it. Individual games are different though. Sometimes I can get really into a game, like my Leigh Genesis save on 09 and my Reading save on 09, and other times I get a few months in and lose interest.
 
i agree on the story audience take max for example, he has an amazing story so he gets an audience, i didnt get audiences on any, not that i care but i do lose some motivation
 
Football Manager is a fantastic game and highly adictive. However it does take work. But personally when I get it a muck about till the patches then start a game a stick to that game till the next one comes out the following year.
 
i'm having major problems with this at the moment, really cant get into a game i must have started 5 saves today and just ended up quitting them, got a week off uni now and really want to get into a good save but have no idea who to play as or anything, i'm just sat here staring at the add manager screen and can't decide on a team that i actually want to manage. need some major help people :/
 
As these guys have said start a story, honestly it will keep you involved. My story is different to a normal story. I have aded humour and included things that don't happen in the game but may do in real life and boy has that kept me involved. I also enjoy reading other stories as they inspire me to change something or buy a player thats done well for them.

yeah i might do mate, but ive started a few stories in the past and not continued with most of them, the only one ive done properly was my Espanyol one, need to find a challenge that interests me that i can write about :/
 
Just make interesting to others. Include Pictures using PhotoShop or Paint and make your updates interesting and detailed but not too long. Add one or two vital screenshots but don't clog up your thread with them. :)
 
Cheers for the advice mate, i'll take it on board, just need to pick a team now, not done a Northampton save yet in FM but i often find them boring to manage :/

I lost my motivation to play this ages ago infact i havent played a real game for a month and abit, tho i am determined to get back into it tho when the january tranfer patch comes out.

Anyhow spot on with the detail Chris!.

Happens to me, but not months but I can go a few weeks without playing, sometimes it is bad for your health playing FM as it can be so frustrating.
 
Personally i pick a team that i support, or a team that's challenging to play. Then i play through a pre-season or two to have a look at what players i need, then i buy the players and off i go!

The most amusing game i've ever had was me and a pal when we started up a LAN game. We played through summer, and many a beer session later, we'd finished the season! i was Tottenham and he was Aston Villa, and when we played each other we were literally screaming and throwing beer around the place! Was CLASS!
 
Lol. Sounds like one way to get into Football Manager. :D
 
the only times i get annoyed at FM is when silly things heppen throughout the game.

like when i was Derby and we were 1-0 up against Arsenal in the FA Cup final and with 5 minutes to go they score to make it 1-1 and it says i have to do extra time. "No" i said, "No. I refuse to play extra time because i they got the luckiest goal ever to make me have to play extra time which we shouldn't be having." we ended up losing 2-1...

other than that i love FM.
 
Fantastic chris. I have been having a look at 50+ clubs and just couldn't decide who to be & ive decided to take on the challenge of sevilla. I also will be following this up with a story. I hope people can take the time to check it out and see my game develope.
