Getting into Football Manager.

Do you really enjoy Football Manager?

I'm bad at playing FM the last time no matter which team i managed but ever since i joined this forum, i started to read up on all the useful tips and infos and now i feel that i'm getting better each day which makes the game more interesting to me (H)
 
Since I joined the forum I have got worse :P

I think the thing is that the game goes to slowly. On PSP the seasons are well quick and they just don't get boring cos they;re so quick
 
i get bored of games quicker than you can type fm and I really struggle and am on a run of about 2 months without a solid game which is near a record for me, really annoying. I just can't choose a team atm any suggestions will be gratefully considered and great guide here btw :)
 
I think I have decided to be dortmund as they have some epic players and I think it will be a good challenge, will also try a game thread so keep an eye out and please feel free to drop us a comment in any spare time :)
 
I tend to sign unknown good players mainly regens about 15-18 years old with good potential and put them through the youth system for a season or two the a year in the res and introduce them in the first team by the age of 20 if there not good enough i sell them on and make a proft for the club which at arsenal you only get 50% of it but that what keeps me playing the same game i used try and sell all the fringe players at arsenal and buy big names but then after 2 seasons id just get bored. I know this may seem odvious but it`s what keeps me going im in my fourth season now and most of my team is made up of 19-21 year old regens with the only main players being fabregas and milevski , alder which i feel are 3 of the greatest players in the game for there positons.
 
Tbh, I was getting bored, but then I was Wolves and now I'm loving it again :D

Playing my Palace save. Just beat Villa 4-1! :D That is one way to keep going!
 
Maybe one way to get into fm is to change skin, as you might be bored of the same skin so maybe changing it every so often to make it more interesting?

Has this already been said?

Yeah its been like that for me on FM10 sometimes if I have a really good game I'll go on it everyday for a while but if I don't I won't go on it for ages.
 
The reason why I love football manager is that it gives me the feeling of acheiving great things with any club you want(albeit it simulated)
It can be your best friend, and your worst enemy....another reason why I absolutely adore this game

not sure if i can post this here ... but!!! ... i have a player "fran merida" who is a shining star at blackburn, but he is struggling with media specualtion.how do i ease his worries ... ??? (fm 2010)
 
i found playing big clubs get very boring so i turn off after about 2 hours but now i play lower leagues in the bsn bsp i found it more of a challenge.. some times i spent anythin upto 4 hours to all day playing now.. i started with fm09 last year now playing fm10 with more to do with the teams...
 
i have only ever got into 2 stories :) they were both on fm09 and i was rangers and wigan so i thought that i might be able to do the same this year with the same team :) nope it didnt work:( its just that i cant sign the players i want or cant find a winning tactic
 
I find Lower League clubs boring to be honest. I like teams like Newcastle, Birmingham, Fulham. Teams with a little cash to spare that already have some reputation. :)
 
Since i lost interest in my 5 season long Notts County i haven't got another game past January :S

Started a Bradford City story now though. I find that making a story which you find people are viewing and commenting on, gives you the motivation to do it. Audience pressure XD

Although it is also annoying when i get too into a game, it becomes my be all and end all of my existence :P. Washing, Eating, Uni all come behind FM when im in the zone XD
