This thread is to anyone who want's a little help getting started with Leeds Utd.
Game Version: 1.0.3 patch
Tactic used: 4-5-1 (similar to JP Woodys Barca tactic)
Database size : Large
You start with about 1,1 million euro in transfer budget.
Here is list of my sales and purchases.
Cancel loan:
Michael Doyle (loan) Expensive wage!!!
McSheffrey (loan) Expensive wage!!!
This will free up some cash for you, and if used properly, you could get
quality signings (signings that will be able to perform in CCL), and still have some cash to spare.
Sell:
Andy Robinson (75k) .
Marques (75k).
Casper Ankergren (100k).
Lubio Michalik (140k) .
Tresor Kandol (100k).
In: 490.000 euro
Buy/sign:
Nicolae Mitea OML (Free) - 3 star player in CCL 1, I use him as a back up to Snodgrass.
Michael Ball DL (Free) - CCL 1 superstar. 1. choice on DL - an exceptionally good buy.
Ulrich Vincentz DR (30k) - 3 star player in CCL 1, 1. choice on DR.
Rohan Rickets OMR (Free) - Not really my favourite player - but serves as a decent back up to Gradel. Can play on many offensive positions.
Chris Hogg DC (300k) - Back up, but on the same level (3 star) as my 1. choices in DC.
Espen Jonson GK (Free) -1. choice GK, 3 star player in CCL 1, and free (don't miss).
Richard Hughes DM (700k) - On sale - A considerable part of your budget will have to go on this one. Fear not. Easily the best player in the league if you get him. Superb in CCL 1 and CCL.
Bryan Hughes MC (free) - Quality back up CM.
Out: 1.030.000 euro
Due to your favourable position in terms of player quality, an offensive tactic during your 1. season would be the best approach. In my experience, you can establish Leeds at least in the middle af CCL with this squad, and if you are really talented you might even fight for further promotion.
Hints:
1. thing you do is request for a "motherclub" - usually you get to choose between either Arsenal, Liverpool or West Ham. Choose Arsenal and get som cheap loans from their youth team (Barazite, Jay Thomas etc.)
2. Get rid of rubbish coaches, and get some who with more quality (Paul Winsper, Bobby Downes, Prosinecki for instance).
